Amazing Arm Cast of Air, June 9, 2011
This review is from: Aircast Tennis Elbow Brace (Health and Beauty)
I have struggled for months with my arm. Over time it has become painful to use a computer mouse, type on a keyboard and eventually perform activities with my arm. I visited my physician who provided me with a Pneumatic Aircast Tennis Elbow Support.
Although the doctor explained how to wear it, he did not explain what caused my problem (I no longer play tennis).
After careful research, I found that there are several important muscles that run from the hand to the upper arm and shoulder. Three are especially important for me:
The Extensor carpus radialis longus which attaches to the index finger and "controls bending of the wrist towards the thumb as well as bending the wrist back";
The Extensor carpi radialis brevis which attaches to the middle finger and also "controls the raising of the wrist";
The Extensor carpi ulnarus which attaches to the 5th finger and is used to "cock the wrist outwards, for example reaching for a far away key on a keyboard".
These three muscles run along the thumb side of the forearm. Strain on these muscles can effect use of the hand and shoulder. Under strain the result is pain.
To relieve the problem, I place the pneumatic air cell directly on the three muscles and pull the strap tight. The pressure somehow relieves strain on those muscles and temporarily solves the problem. With the brace in place I am able to use my arm again.
I found this cast on Amazon. It is the same product that I obtained at the doctors office, but is much cheaper online. I bought a second one as a backup. I highly recommend this product.

works but not very durable, September 19, 2010
This review is from: Aircast Tennis Elbow Brace (Health and Beauty)
The support relieved much of the stress and pain I felt in my elbow. Unfortunately it is poorly constructed. The strap broke on the first armband I bought and the cushion deflated on the second one.

Works, but breaks, September 1, 2010
This review is from: Aircast Tennis Elbow Brace (Health and Beauty)
This is a piece of junk. Maybe it will work if you use it while sitting at a keyboards, but it broke on me after about 5 tennis games. The cheap plastic is just very brittle. Once it breaks, it's useless.
