Gr 7 Up The title ``encyclopedia'' suggests a definitive, comprehensive work; however, this is not the case. It is difficult, to say the least, to examine and document the aircraft of today in 188 pages. More appropriately, Aircraft Encyclopedia is an excellent guide, a valuable introductory source. The book is organized into four chapters: rise of aviation, military aircraft, civilian aircraft, and a reference section (glossary, index, abbreviations, record breakers, museums in Europe and the U.S.). There is an abundance of colorful illustrations, each accompanied by a brief description of the aircraft. The pictures and diagrams certainly elucidate the text. This entertaining study will be enjoyed by aviation enthusiasts of all ages. L. R. Little, Houston Secondary School, B.C., Canada

Good For Kids!,

This review is from: The Aircraft Encyclopedia (Paperback)
A little dated and aimed for kids only. Still, nicely laid out and cheap, it would make a good stocking filler or that little something for someone who isn't too picky. More serious plane enthusiasts should look elsewhere. My 8 year old nephew liked it though.
