This review is from: Airfields of the Eighth (Then And Now) (Hardcover)
Although Roger Freeman is an excellent historian for the Eighth Air Force in England, and the book is an excellent reference guide, it is sorely in need of updating. The book was last updated in 1977, and since that time many things have happened to these former Eight Air Force Bases, many of which are barely visible as bases today. Pictures of "now" are over 25 years old, buildings are destroyed, runways overgrown with vegetation, and in some instances private industry has taken over the base thus not allowing people to visit. I strongly urge Mr. Freeman to update this book, because it is a good reference manual.
