I got it, I took it out of the package, I plugged the usb into the Wii, and a Cat5 cable from the router to this item. I turned on the Wii, went into the setup and changed the internet connection from wireless to wired. The Wii checked the connection and found it and I was instantly able to check weather, news, virtual console etc.
The entire operation took 5 minutes. Buy this.

Easy to set up and Easier to use.
Although the product came with directions for PC and MAC, there were no installation instructions for the Nintendo Wii (the sole reason I bought it for) As a guess, I just plugged the adapter into the USB on the back of my Nintendo Wii, plugged in the cord from my high speed internet and the activity lights immediately started showing power. Then just go into the Wii settings (bottom left of the "Home" screen on the Nintendo). Go to "Wii settings" then scroll to the next list to the right where, near the bottom it has an "Internet" button. Click that, go to "Connections", then click one of the three open connections. Any one will work. Clear out any previous settings then click new connection. Then choose "Wired" and just wait. After the connection test it will work every time. This is an excellent product.

Works as Wii LAN Adapter,

I bought this adapter because it was inexpensive, and according to one of the several websites I dug through, was supposed to be compatible with the Nintendo Wii. Needless to say, my Wii's wi-fi connection was behaving poorly (waiting 2+ minutes to load the Shopping Channel), when my laptop had perfectly normal, fast wireless access to my router. I read that this can be due to a conflict between the Wii's Bluetooth radio for the Wii remote and the wireless network adapter inside the console, as they are in very close proximity to each other.
Highly recommended for anyone who also finds the Wii wi-fi inadequate.

Well I bought this to use a regular wired connection for the Wii rather than Wi-fi, and it does just that! That's all I can say. Recommended.

I just bought a Wii and was extremely displeased that it did not have a wired ethernet connector on it. Bad Wii, bad! Did some searching for an adapter that would work, and then remembered I had bought this Airlink ASOHOUSB long ago for $5 at Frys. Further searches revealed that it would work with the Wii, so dug it up (it was still new in the box) and plugged in it, configured it on the settings screen, and sure enough it connected a-OK. Easy connection, easy setup. Highly recommend this adapter.
Note: Fry's stopped carrying Airlink products, so can't get this from them anymore...

Wii Adapter?,
This review is from: Airlink ASOHOUSB USB 2.0 LAN Adapter works with Nintendo Wii + 6FT CAT5 LAN Cable (Video Game)
The adapter doesn't work for my Wii. I plug it into the USB port in the back, plug my cable in, yet nothing lights up. It also didn't come with the CAT5 Cable. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because I can still use it on my computer. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my Wii or not, but the adapter won't properly install. Works great on my computer though.

The USB LAN adapter works perfectly with the Wii system and it costs far less than many other adapters. I connected it to my LAN router with DSL and I had the Wii online within seconds.
