A beautiful TECTORUM TILANDSIA, or air plant, that looks EXACTLY like the photo. My plant is 7 inches WIDE, and 5 inches TALL, which is pretty big. Honestly, had I known the plant was THIS big, I would have gone with the smaller version of the same plant. The reason the plant is so pricey, is that it grows VERY slowly. However, its also difficult to kill. Airplants which are white, have adapted to withstand high levels of sunlight. (white is reflective.) Also, the hairy leaves are actually adaptations for surviving in hot, dry weather. The hairy fibers on the leaves are of course the root hairs, since no roots exist for this plant, other than an occasional ancoring root to posistion the plant. These extra fibers would pick up the slightest dew, humidity or shower, and yank the moisture from the air into the plant. Its those white fuzzy filliments, which make this plant so unusual. I have mine mounted on some ancient bonsai-esque rosewood, along with a few smaller Tillandsias. It looks smashing! Give this plant some strong light, occasional misting, and protection from hungry dogs, cats and babies, and it should eventually bloom, then have pups you can adopt or give away to good homes.

I purchased this plant from Garden in the City, and I have been happy with every plant I've purchased from them. So far, I have purchased the Large Xerographica, XL Andreana, the Ionantha Red 5 Pack, and this seriously Fuzzy air plant. I was not disappointed. It looks just like the picture and it is about the size of a grapefruit. It is a very funky looking airplant because of the fuzzy fronds? needles?. I love it!

It is just as pictured and filled the empty corner of my air plant terrarium. Beautiful and very eye catching; great conversation starter.

I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!

When I took it out of the box it was love at first sight. It is so darn cute - I wanted to cry! I held it in my hand and just stared. I can NOT express how much I love this plant. I put it on a flat dish with some clear glass "gems" under it for some drainage for when I spray it with water. I want more - a whole houseful of them but I'm TRYING to show SOME restraint.

This little plant reminds me a lot of "tribbles" from Star Trek.

The plant arrived looking very healthy and just like the picture. It's a sort of minty-white. Mine is about 7" in diameter and about 6" tall. I see a few reviews saying their plant is smaller than they expected -- keep in mind that most tillandsias are small plants, so "huge" for a tillandsia is not the same as for most potted plants. It makes them great for small spaces but could be disappointing if you're not familiar with them. Mine is about the size of an orange or baseball.

T. Tectorum needs lots of light, more than most tillandsia. It can withstand sunlight. It does not tolerate over-watering, so be sparing with the mist. Look into the T Tectorum's natural habitat - the rocky, high altitude mountains of Peru - and you'll better understand how to care for this charming little plant. Mine is in a hanging glass lantern/box where it gets morning sunlight and it shaded in the afternoon.

Such an adorable fuzz ball! I've even considered putting little plastic eyes in there, because so many people are intrigued by the "furry thing in the cage".

This has to be one of the coolest plants on the face of the earth. In fact, it's so interesting it's almost alien. Everyone who sees it or holds it is amazed. It has beautiful, fuzzy branches that almost shimmer when illuminated. I placed mine in a large glass vase with some decorative black rocks. The black makes this white plant really stand out. So far this is the most interesting air plant I've seen. I would highly recommend it for anyone that enjoys air plants.

I received my fuzzy today and it is really fuzzy. What a beautiful air fern this is I have never seen anything like it. It's huge and it takes up the whole 9" hanging glass globe I put it in. I'm so glad I decided to add this one to my collection. You won't be disappointed if you order one. I asked and the seller said only spritz once every 10 days as it likes it arid. Thank you so much for such a beautiful, unusual air fern.
