We have a number of Snapware containers around the kitchen and they've proven very useful, mostly for the storage of leftovers in the fridge. One of the most useful is the Jumbo Cereal Keeper, as is illustrated here. We got our first one as a part of a set. We just purchased an additional three-pack at our local warehouse store.

We have problems with insects, primarily Argentine Ants, getting into our foodstuffs. In addition, we like to shop at our local warehouse store where we buy things in large quantities. So, how does one store the extra stuff after the container has been opened? Well, these large sealable bins prove to be just the thing. We use them to store cereal, Pasta and cat food. With these containers, we've never had a problem. They seal tight and are real easy to use. They'll store easily in our pantry. It's an excellent product for our useage.

I purchased these in a 3-pack from our local warehouse store as well. I also purchased a box of Special K that includes 2 18.5 oz bags. BOTH of these bags fit in one container. I am super happy. We also had a huge box of Cheerios that fit in one with room to spare. I can see these being very helpful at keeping our cereal fresh, as long as the snap parts do not break apart after prolonged use.

The only suggestion I have is that it would be nice if the containers could be designed so that when you have more than one, they would fit together more closely. I do not have a pantry, and do not have a lot of room in my cabinets, so the space left between these containers when next to each other is wasted (The tops of these containers are wider than the bottoms). These are definitely NOT for space saving : ) That might be picky, but it was just something I noticed. I most definitely would recommend these though, without a second thought!

Wanted something good for cereal, to keep it fresh for my 6 year old son. It took 10 days to get them, but when I did, i was worth the wait. They are large enough that you can fit a whole box and then some in them, nicely shaped handle on the back that makes it easy to grip. The top is securely held by four hinges that flip down and lock in place, with the separate snap lid that opens.
Everything snaps securely, and finally I'll have an easy way for my child to get his own cereal without having to worry about whether he closed the bag properly to keep things from going stale quickly.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars were because of two things I could see to improve it.

First would be a narrower opening on the front for the top lid, so it was easier to accurately pour for a kid, but I've finally managed to get him to tilt it somewhat so the corner is on the "bottom" when he pours, giving him a little better aim, and more cereal in the bowl and less on the counter and floor...

The second one is a worry for longevity. The snaps on the four sides of the tops are not hinged, but just bent plastic, thin and contoured. Most everything I've ever had that contained a hinged part with a little thin piece like this to hold it on ended up wearing out and breaking, and once that happens, the seal will be compromised. I wish they had actually used a real hinge, even if just a cheap plastic one, to help me feel more confident in the potential life span of this. But at least at the rate I go through cereal in my house, it shouldn't fail too soon.
