Book Description

January 1990
A collection of six tales from the underground. From the opening title story, where Slim gets ripped off by Airtight Willie, one of New York's slickest con men, to "Satin", a tale of revenge in which the heist goes badly wrong, the reader is given a close-up of the badlands of urban America.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Exactly What I was expecting, August 11, 2006
This review is from: Airtight Willie & Me (Paperback)
The book starts out with lots of outdated slang which makes alot of it unreadable and strained. The rest of the book deals with Slim telling bizarre stories about people he must have knew. This book is not like the PIMP book, it seems to be stories that Slim is telling the reader of things he heard. Anyways, it is well worth the read as all of his books are.

5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't put it down, January 5, 1999

Yo, the first thing you have to do when u get this book, is check out the slang. The slang is captivating, the metaphors make u visualize the anecdote. Iceberg Slim drop jewels and give u a more clear perspective on life. Plus the slick talk is charismatic....
