Ever on the hunt for more Django, I found this one at the record store. Intrigued by its title, I quickly found that it was a hack job compiling mostly cuts from Django In Rome '50. There is one beautiful solo Nuages improvisation which was on the "Integrale Django" series, recorded on mag film for a soundtrack that was never used, but aside from that, most of this stuff has been heard before. Don't get me wrong, I love Django In Rome, I have a soft spot in my heart for it, but you can buy the whole collection for a few bucks more than this. Also, there are no notes AT ALL, so the neophyte Django explorer will be heartily confused. There's very little bad Django, period, but I'm just keepin' it real...
