Well, I thought I'd write a review on this since no one else has.
First off the good. This product does transmit wireless sound and video to your home TV. Works great, pictures good quality, not great, but that could be because my TV is old, I'll know for sure this week when i get my New 42' in. The bad: Distance is a real issue, you can't get the reciever to far away from the transmitter or you get bad video quality with many breaks in the feed. If your in another room, you can forget about it. The devices themselfs feel very cheap, and if you use any type of wireless internet, forget this product. The wireless net interferes with this product and you done get ANY video. This does seem to work well when you've got line of sight from pc to tv, my max distance is at about 10 foot, then i run outta room . Works good, but could have been a great product.

I decided to buy one of these wireless audio/video transmitters out of impulse really, despite the skeptical reviews that had them interfere with other wireless devices or not having enough range. I was very excited to receive this product and set it up right away between my laptop and TV over a clear-sighted 15 foot distance (you can see why this was an impulse buy...). What I noticed right away was that the sound quality was a little diminished, at a bearable level (quite a shame for my awesome sound system). The picture transmission however was great, no complaints. There was always some background noise, but this might also be due to the fact that my apartment is old and I often get feedback loops with my electronics.
So although I was not completely satisfied with the sound (my primary purpose for buying this product) I decided to stick with it for a while. Then after 2 days, I accidentally plugged off one the transmitter and that's when everything started going haywire. Deafening feedback, constant noise, unpredictable behavior. I managed to find ways to deal with the noise, like when music was playing and I heard feedback, I plugged in the video transmission cable on my computer, the feedback went away and then I unplugged it again. (Also fyi in case someone wants to buy this, channel 1 works best, I tested them all out). Basically what I want to say is that these low-end multimedia transmitters might do what they claim, but the quality WILL be lower (why compromise when you can as well buy a longer cable??), the reception WILL be quirky (imagine how many radio signals there are around), the range is definitely NOT as described (don't even try to do this between rooms) and in general you WILL get tired of it after a while. To sum it up, I would suggest getting a wired PC to TV converter and then buying an RCA extension. I recently got "AITech Web Cable Plus" and it works just fine for me. Same for audio, just buy a long jack extension as I have now. Why compromise on quality for 'coolness'? You can get all the cables you need for a fraction of these overpriced wireless machines. If you really need it however, settle for a guaranteed higher quality product and spend the extra buck. This kind of a device is not a keeper, learn from me before you have to deal with returns.

The product is prett simple to setup and and signal looks good when there's no interference. I live in an apartment and I think my neighbors microwaves/bluetooth/wifi was scrambling my video, and this was happening enough to make the product useless. Switching channels rarely helped. I ended up returning it and amazon gave me a full refund. I built a cheap htpc for watching videos and it works great.
*Note* If you are going to hook up your PC to your TV with a cable then make sure you get a coaxial isolator or you will get some annoying scrolling bar on your TV. It's caused by a ground loop and it took me forever to find out how to fix it.

Nothing Good to Say,

I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this product... Even with the transmitter and receiver sitting within 2 ft. of each other, pointing directly at one another, with or without anything between them, the signal is sketchy. The picture quality seems ok, when I do get a picture of signal. Any vibration in the house makes screen flicker horribly and the units do not work at all while I use my wi-fi network, portable phone, or when the microwave on the other side of the housed is being used. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Get a wired product and drill holes in the wall if you need to.

Poor resolution and no audio,

I bought this so I could watch programs from my PC on my TV including downloaded videos and netflix movies. I was not able to get the audio going and the resolution was not very good. I consider myself fairly technically adept, but I wasn't able to improve these things no matter what I tried. The distance between the two devices is about 10 ft and I should probably consider devices that directly connect, but since I have a laptop, I thought it would be good so that I could move around a bit if I needed to.

I purchased these about a year ago. Yes they are RF but the signal, when I finally did get both in sync, didn't communicate sound. I was able to get sound and pic on my television but with strong interference. I do not recommend. I never did find another product comparable to wireless pc to tv converters.

I received a similar unit from a different vendor three years ago, and it worked very well with no complaints. That unit was packaged (internally) much better than the unit I received from Amazon.Com. The transmitter was partially disassembled, and the circuit board was exposed. The unit worked very, very poorly compared to the old one that I gave to my kids. I sent it back and I don't recommend you buy one of these.

I wanted this unit to stream video from a PC in one room to a TV in an adjacent room.
It was easy to deploy however the audio crackled and snapped, and every time someone walked into the path of it the picture would distort. Never did get a good picture on it. Also, the "T" adapter made my PC screen blurry and close to unusable. Sent it back for refund. Got a pair of RF-12's instead, and they work great. Stay away from this one.

The set up was simple. The performance was miserable. Sound was inaudible and the picture was in black & white with a vertical roll. I would like to send the item back if possible.Aitech Pro PC/TV Wireless PC to TV Converter (06-078-001-08)

I'm not having a problem with wi-fi interference (which is usually sighted as being a problem), but I am having a problem with a small power build up that pops the screen about once every five minutes. The picture quality is good, but it seems to be overly dark. When I connect my computer to another TV through s-video, the picture is brighter, but the brightness dims through this system.
Sound quality is, in fact, good. I have no problems playing my sound through the TV. It does what I expected from a wireless computer-TV device, and it does not do anything extra. |
