a beautiful gem..., August 6, 2008
This review is from: Aitu (Audio CD)
One of the selling points of Melodyguild's EP Aitu is that it showcases Suzanne Perry's luminous vocals. But what also needs to be brought to the forefront is a four-song release of well-structured, interesting songs with just enough noise for the shoegaze fanatics, and just enough ether for the dream to keep anyone floating.
I'll admit that, as a fan of Love Spirals Downwards, I have been missing this voice creating new music. Now that it's here, I can't stop listening to it, and only wish that this EP lasted a the length of a long play. It's gorgeous, never self-important, and the perfect addition amongst the nu-gaze and dreampop revival.
Fans of LSD, Mira, Slowdive, or simply really enjoyable songs and clear-as-glass, smooth-as-velvet vocals will definitely enjoy!

Melodyguild Aitu, September 4, 2011
This review is from: Aitu (Audio CD)
As a slowdive fan, I happened to listen to "Flicker" while on a Pandora radio station. Suzanne Perry's voice caught my ear. This is a great album I just wish it was longer. Style is very shoegaze with dramatic slow guitar rifts and wondering vocals.
