Great Receiver with great features!!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Aiwa AV-D50 Audio/Video Receiver (Electronics)
I love this receiver. It is my first receiver and I am very impresed with Aiwa's great product. Even without a subwoofer everything sounds great because it has the extra T-bass witch adds fullness to the sound. But since it does have a output for one, when a subwoofer and the T-bass are combined it sounds wonderful. It is Dolby Digital Ready so you can add a DVD player to it for superior sound. It allows you to plug each speaker in seperately from the DVD player which is incredible. It comes with a remote but you don't even need it because you can control everything from the receiver itself. Overall, I recomend this item to anyone who wants to start a home theater system.

I have not experienced any problems with this receiver which I have owned for a year. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful receiver at a low price.

Too expensive,

Way to expensive for the features it has. For the same price go with a Sherwood reciever. Everything this guy has plus dobly digital and DTS.

Does AIWA stand up to the challenge?,

I have owned an AIWA bookshelf system for 4 years and it has given me my fair share of problems. I am also aware of others having similar technical problems with their AIWA systems. I think it's great that AIWA is joining the AC3(Dolby Digital) train, but I question the performance of its receiver in the long run in comparison to more well-known brands (Denon, Sony). Think twice before you purchase a $300 receiver. In any case, when attaining a home theater system, the receiver is one of the most crucial pieces of the puzzle and it is worth it to spend the extra $$ for a "quality" system. . .

what a piece of junk,

I bought this piece of junk two years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. Everyone I know who has surround sound (even those who spent much less $ than I) has something that sounds MUCH better than this. Please do yourself a favor and skip this and all Awia products.
