Incomparable value at the price,

This review is from: Aiwa CSDED67 AM/FM/CD/Cassette Boombox (Electronics)
Aiwa products have long been known for their clarity of sound and quality construction. This unit is no exception. The CSD-ED67 provides big system sound in a compact but sturdily built unit. The Q-sound feature gives a very passable simulation of surround sound and, combined with the quality full-range speakers, delivers rich, clean musical and vocal tones. The three pre-set EQ choices are distinctly different and do work well in emphasizing specific frequency ranges for your chosen musical style. As with most Aiwa units, the sound is more precise than powerful. If you are looking for straight, wall-shaking noise, this unit may not give you what you want. However, if you want pure, sweet tones and distinct separation of vocals and instruments, the CSD-ED67 is up to the task. This unit does a good job of recording to cassette; however, most of the more advanced functions (specifically, programmability) are accessed through the remote, which can be a bit inconvenient. Nonetheless, this unit is a remarkable value and provides the buyer with a bargain basement opportunity to enjoy the wonderful world of Aiwa stereo systems. At this price, you simply can't go wrong.

I bought two of these units thinking as a gift for an elderly parent it would be nice and I needed something for my workroom. I was realy impressed with the features and the well intergrated sound. Getting a remote for so little is amazing but getting auto reverse on a good sounding tape deck as well as many other features made this one of the best buys I made this year. Mom loves it and so do I. It is not terribly powerful but sounds great. The combination of features as well as portability make this a great little stereo system for travel a kids room or in my case my office.

I bought one of these for myself about 2 1/2 years ago. It's an attractive, rugged and lightweight unit. My kid's kept stealing it so I finally broke down and bought each one of them one of their own. All three have worked flawlessly for over 2 years despite being moved around a lot.The base is a bit weak, but other than that the sound quality is excellent. Radio reception is excellent as well. What I really like about it, however, is that the volume is well regulated. It's not that you can't play it loud--you can. But it does stop well short of deafening. This makes it an ideal indoor unit. Loud enough to play while taking a shower without letting the whole neighborhood know what you are listening to. On the whole, a tremendous value for the money.

Right now I am currently looking for a replacement for my aiwa. It has served me faithfully for nearly ten years now and the control buttons are starting to go. I am looking for another aiwa because the quality of their cd players are so good, and other cd players just can't measure up. I have never had any problems with it skipping cds or eating cassete tapes like I have had with other stereos. You can't go wrong with this cd player.
