4.0 out of 5 stars Very sensitive radio, a tad steep in price for features, but quality construction., October 21, 2007

This review is from: Aiwa FR-C300 Radio AM/FM Tuner
- Uses 4 C batteries and an included disconnectable AC cord.

- Handly handle folds down flush with the top of the radio, can't
even tell it has a handle until you peer down at it.

- Has a Noise clear power on position that helps eliminate upper
sound frequency noise/interference while listening to
distant AM stations, nice feature.

- Manual says it will run for 230 hours on FM and 450 hours on AM
using alkaline batteries and less than half that time using plain
bottom-barrel batteries.

If you don't mind the price, it's a good radio for the money, and there are few radios below this price range that are even worth paying $30+ for.

Most are cheap looking and cheap performing, which makes the cheapiness of those radios unworthy of purchasing in the first place.

Case in point, the RCA SuperJunk III, How can anyone sell a radio with
the words Superadio III on it if less than half the dial works and is un
tweakable to correct the poor factory adjustment that leaves the radio useless as an ordinary AM radio?

This Aiwa radio at least looks like and performs like a $30+ radio should, with shipping it's close to mid $40's range in total cost.

At least I felt like I got my money's worth with this Aiwa model.

I'd have given it 5 stars if the seller didn't take so long to finally ship it to me.
