5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy!
A year ago when someone gave me these headphones I gave them the standard fake smile and look of grattitude you give someone when they don't get you quite what you were looking for. I was sure these headphones wouldn't sound that great on account of how thin they were, and I thought they would be flimbsy for the same reason. I can't begin to tell you how wrong I was...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good sound, but I only recommend for those with short hair!!
Overall, I have to say the headphones have very good sound, especially for the price. When properly situated in the ears, the bass was surprisingly strong, given their size.

However, these headphones seem to have been only tested on males, or at least people with very short hair. I found that the behind-the-neck piece of plastic *did* interfere with my shoulder length...

I was sure these headphones wouldn't sound that great on account of how thin they were, and I thought they would be flimbsy for the same reason. I can't begin to tell you how wrong I was. The sound quality is deep and clear and the headphones fit snugly to my head. They are very comftorable and light, and you soon forget they are even there. The fact that they only have a cord on one side is great as well. These are just great headphones, expecially for the price.

However, these headphones seem to have been only tested on males, or at least people with very short hair. I found that the behind-the-neck piece of plastic *did* interfere with my shoulder length hair. The headphones won't stay in my ears when I try the neckpiece over my hair, and they slip down to the wrong angle when I tried them under my hair. Because the plastic neckband is not adjustable (per the design) I can't get a comfortable fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Sounding Headphones Available, October 22, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Aiwa HP-JS30S Stereo Headphones (Silver) (Electronics)
I first saw these in Hong Kong. After beating it up traveling for a year it broke. I loved it so much that I bought another one. This is the only online store I found it on. These headphones pump out some quality. The frequency response of 10-25,000 Hz and inpedance of 16 Ohms really gives your music some nice bass. You rarely find spec like these for this kind of price. I've tried some other Aiwa headphones and returned them cause it was obviously all looks and no qulaity. The swoop style is sexy and the design is convenient for sports or any other actvities ex. sleeping. This one gives the whole package.

I purchased this item a week ago and so far, I am impressed with it. AIWA's sound quality is always excellent and impressive. But there are some cons that you might consider before buying the product. First of all, the headphone has poor quality earbuds. When I wore it for the first time, it was very uncomfortable and hurt my ears. But after listening to it for about 3 days, I got used to it. There are many pros also. The swoops AIWA headphones are very stylish. Plus, their sound quality is noticeably preferable than any other headphones. Fortunately, amazon offers the same headphone with the remote control which gives more preference. Overall, this is a desirable item. But if you are aspiring for a heaphone with comfort and decent sound, I would recommend SONY's behind-the-neck or clip-ons(which I own and they are very comfortable). But if you are aiming for finest and superb sound quality, give AIWA swoops a try.

2.0 out of 5 stars A turn-off., January 31, 2002
This review is from: Aiwa HP-JS30S Stereo Headphones (Silver) (Electronics)
I was very disappointed in these earphones after reading all the great reviews. I found the bass sorely lacking, and the earphones themselves uncomfortable. If they weren't pushed far enough into your ears, the sound lacked. If they WERE far in enough, they were uncomfortable. Plus, the plastic linking the earphones kept brushing my shirt collar as I moved, interfering with the music...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound and sweet style, May 31, 2002

The Aiwa swoops have very high sound quality in a small package; the bass they pump out is noticibly more powerful than other headphones with similar sized drivers. The behind-the-head design avoids messing up your hair and also looks good...form and functionality right there. I've had my swoops for over a year and am very happy with um. If you're not used to the in-the-ear-type headphones, they may feel uncomfortable at first; however, once you wear them a few times you get used to them. The price is pretty reasonable...you get some good sound for under 20 bucks.

These headphones are great for the price. They have great sound with great bass. Its amazing the bass that comes through in such small headphones. I wish the cord was a bit longer but other than that they're perfect. Very comfortable and light as well.

Being a person who has spent a lot of time over the years with different forms of music and media, I must say this is one of the best headphone sets I have ever used... I am actually quite amazed at the quality compared to the cost.

These are wonderful for sound -- great definition, separation, and clarity. My main rave is for the style, which not only looks good but is so comfortable I am not even aware I have them on. (A major problem for me has always been uncomfortable headphones.) I wholeheartedly endorse the Aiwa Swoops Model.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so good, February 26, 2003

I was pretty disappointed with the bass.... they are very lightweight and are good for the gym, but I have ditched them for my old Koss KTX/Pro headphones, which have much better sound and a volume control built into the cord.... I would recommend them over these any day despite the less 'trendy' look.
