Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Enjoy big, heavy sound in a small package with the HS-TX516 portable radio/cassette deck. Outfitted with Super Bass technology, the unit offers surprisingly robust low-frequency sound that makes everything from hip-hop to classical to jazz sound rich and full bodied. The radio includes 30 station presets (20 FM and 10 AM), helping you quickly scan your favorite stations or switch to a specific program without messing with the tuner. The radio also boasts dual tuning modes--one fast and one slow--depending on where you're going on the dial and how precise you need to be. Cassette-wise, the HS-TX516 offers all the basics, including an auto-reverse mode that either plays continually or once all the way through and a hold switch that prevents you from accidentally pressing buttons and wasting battery life.

Additional features include a three-point LCD indicator that tells you at a glance how much power is left and a pair of neckband headphones uniquely designed to comfortably and securely hold the earpieces in place. The HS-TX516 runs for up to 24 hours on a single pair of AA alkaline batteries (not included) and includes a belt clip for easier transport. And at 4.5 by 3.38 by 1.19 inches (W x H x D), it takes up very little space in your jacket pocket, backpack, or elsewhere. As with all Aiwa portable audio products, the device carries a one-year warranty on parts and a 90-day warranty on labor.

3.0 out of 5 stars Walk About, July 11, 2003
This review is from: Aiwa HS-TX516 Portable Cassette Player with AM/FM Radio (Electronics)
For Aiwa, they've made some decent electronics over the past couple of years. Still, it is just a shame that I really don't see their devices anymore, in favor of companies like Sony and Panasonic. With Aiwa's HS-TX516, it has a good display of playback within the cassette, and a good quality of use when you're outside. Still, since they've been introduced, Aiwa's neckband headphones are just truly uncomfortable around the ears. I suggest if you get this, try getting another set of headphones. Sadly, I recommend the HS-TX716 over this, because it has a TV Tuner and a Weather Band added on to the features this walkman has. If you can't find this one, you might as well try and get a Sony Walkman instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars I wish everything in life were this dependable, January 11, 2011
This review is from: Aiwa HS-TX516 Portable Cassette Player with AM/FM Radio (Electronics)
I got this player for Christmas when I was 11 years old. I'm now coming up on my 21st birthday and i'm still using the same cassette player. It's suffered a lot of drops, but still works, good as gold.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent product, September 21, 2006
This review is from: Aiwa HS-TX516 Portable Cassette Player with AM/FM Radio (Electronics)
I bought this cassette 13 years ago, it still plays. Aiwa has proved to be a better product than all the rest. I am sorry that Amazon has so many that is not available. I have been trying to buy the newer model but you can't find them in stores.
