4.0 out of 5 stars Great DVD player -- great price
I've had this DVD player for over nine months and have had absolutely no problems with it. It's played everything that I've wanted it too, so I've encountered no compatibility errors. I was able to hook it up into my stereo without any trouble and the sound is great. It's got MP3 playback, and accepts CD-R and CD-RWs, which is a handy feature, though one that I rarely...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Couple Glitches...
I do not personally own this DVD player, but both my brother and sister each own this model. My sister's will sometimes refuse to read discs, and my brother's does the same. They have owned their players for about a year now. My brother uses his alot more frequently, and is getting really annoyed with the player as of late. I've had this DVD player for over nine months and have had absolutely no problems with it. It's played everything that I've wanted it too, so I've encountered no compatibility errors. I was able to hook it up into my stereo without any trouble and the sound is great. It's got MP3 playback, and accepts CD-R and CD-RWs, which is a handy feature, though one that I rarely avail myself of. It's pretty basic compared to all the ultra-expensive models that are on the market, but for the price, it's a great deal. All I ask of my player is to run DVDs and to be able to hook it through my stereo. For both of these, this DVD player is excellent, and the other features are icing on the cake.

They have owned their players for about a year now. My brother uses his alot more frequently, and is getting really annoyed with the player as of late. It does however have cool features like zoom and slow motion variances. Also, the picture is very clear, and the sound is satisfying. However, I would not recommend this purchase, nor will I be buying it myself!

I have had this product since 2000! I have never had a problem with this dvd player. I never used any of the many other functionalities that it has, but I've never needed to. I clean it once a month and use it A LOT!

Best electronic item I've ever bought :)

GREAT BUY!!!

I have had this player now for almost 5 years. Unbelieveable i payed $189 for this new now that players are so cheep. It was one of the first with MP3 reading technology. I love the MP3 Feature that allows you to select a playlist, which even my newer phillips 642 player doesn't allow. I have had no problems with reading discs in this device. It does have component out, but was just months shy of progressive scan technology. In all, i have had it play many disc, including some DVD backup movies without problems, although it does have some problems with this type of disc. So just because it is older doesn't make it bad, hold on to this for that old TV with standard definition, you'll be hard pressed to find a player better than this one.
