Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Aiwa XP-V50 Portable CD player with Electronic Anti-Shock System (EASS) provides you hours of portable CD play with built-in shock protection. Not only does the EASS neutralize jarring motion, but the 10-second memory provides fast recovery if the player does skip. Equipped with a Dynamic Super Linear (DSL) sound system, the Aiwa XP-V50 ensures quality sound with minimum distortion. Aiwa's DSL circuitry uses an electronic equalizer that automatically compensates for bass roll-off, thereby extending the speaker's low-frequency response. Battery life is as long as 14 hours on two AA batteries, and rechargeable batteries are an option. The Aiwa XP-V50 comes with headphones and an AC adapter.

Product Description

EASS Plus (electronic anti-skip protection) 10 sec. memory backup, DSL (dynamic super linear bass), 14 hour playback, rechargable battery capability, 2-way repeat play

5.0 out of 5 stars Far, far, far better than the Sony player I owned., December 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Aiwa XPV50 Portable CD Player with EASS (Electronics)
The Sony player that I owned which cost the same price as this player(the 191) was far worse than this player. That player recently broke after about a 5 month period. It skipped constantly, even if I was walking down stairs.

I recieved this player today and was instantly far more pleased with its features and performance. The sound is far fuller and cleaner on this player, and most importantly: it doesn't skip. The first thing I did when I got this player is shake the absolute daylights out of it. No skipping. At least this player has a pause button, which is something my Sony player didn't have. Even after only one day, I absolutely don't see anything wrong with this player.

Absolutely recommended and truly excellent for a lower-level player.

5.0 out of 5 stars I MISS YOU AIWA!, November 10, 2001
This review is from: Aiwa XPV50 Portable CD Player with EASS (Electronics)
I got this CD player 2 years ago for christmas. I have to say this is a VERY VERY VERY reliable product! I droped it so many times, and it still worked. Once the cover was open and I droped it and broke a hinge but it was no biggie. The EASS was enough for me, the sound was superb and the battery life was very good. My grunt about it is this, sometime in may I left it in my fathers Iszus troopers glove box and left it there for a week. I came back to get it out (my MP3 player was out of batts) and the center ring (where you put the cd on) was bent. I don't know if it was from heat or what but that was my gripe. other than that everything about it is great! I would of gladly bought another one ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great first portable CD player, January 4, 2002

I needed a CD player for the many hours I spend studying in the library. I've had this player for over a year and it has served me very well. I have not met with any problems. It was a bit bulky as I had expected.

When the battery power is almost exhausted, the keys for options like extra bass and random play stop working until the battery is replaced.

I tried to use it while working out but it skipped often if I didn't have the antiskip option on (but this option tended to consume a lot more battery power). The sound quality is commendable with options for increasing the bass to your liking.

Overall it's a quality player for daily use. I highly recommend it! It met all my expectations.
