This is a great system that is easy to use and to make recordings from either CDs to MDs or radio to MD. I purchased one for myself the beginning of the year and I am now purchasing a second unit as a gift. By the way, the Amazon price is approximately $200 less than what I paid for this unit last year. The sound quality is very good. The only draw back is that there is not a cassette player; but, one can be added.

This is a great unit, exellent sound. Ultimate ease ofrecording, radio, LP's (AUX input)and CDs to MD. can even dupe 3 CDsto 3 MDs with a single button Its got Optical digital in and out, can record digitally from Direct TV audio channels. No cassete recorder but has a separate cassette play and record jacks.

I bought this unit and a Sony car MD changer to get away from cassettes. The absence of cassette slots allows a more compact unit, and I just hook up an external deck to record a tape for a friend. Copying one or three of your CD's is one-button simple. Five MD's can be loaded for recording or listening. The manual is comprehensive and clear. I've used the unit in its sleep and wake-up modes as well as making timer recordings of my favorite public radio programs. Can't beat the price. I recommend it highly.
