I've used several overdrive and distortion pedals over the past 20+ years and this one is my favorite. I had not tried anything from this company until I read a review in Guitarist magazine (from the UK). I thought I'd try one out and I really love this pedal...so much that I now own the Akai Pro Delay and Flanger pedals as well. This pedal works great with either tube or solid state amps. I've used with both my Marshall JVM410 Joe Satriani and my 25-year-old Marshall 12-watt micro stack...it works perfectly. I highly recommend this pedal. Solid construction.

If you do a search on Amazon for "Biyang pedals", they have the exact same pedal as the Akai overdrive and costs less than half of what the Akai costs. Caveat Emptor.

This Akai is the same as the biyang X-drive OD-8.
Not the Mouse. That is like the drive 3 distortion.
This is a great alternative to a standard TS.
Alot of different options.
Good build.
