The Perception 400 has all the features you need for great studio sound: two large-diaphragm condenser capsules; omni, cardioid, and figure-8 selectable pickup patterns; a switchable -10dB pad; and a switchable 300Hz, 12dB-per-octave bass roll-off filter to minimize proximity effect and overwhelming low end. The broad 20Hz 20kHz frequency response has a carefully-crafted, gentle rise starting at 5kHz peaking at +4 dB at 10kHz to bring the sound forward in the mix and give vocals and acoustic instruments presence. The Perception 400 has a die-cast brass housing; dent-resistant, stainless-steel grille; a gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector; and comes with a shockmount and locking metal road case. Backed by a two-year parts and labor warranty from AKG.

This mic is elegant in appearance and it does it's beauty justice with it's multi-pattern capabilities, you can record in omni, figure 8, and cardiod and a 10db pad and bass roll-off switch (on the back), this is your ultimate weapon for serious recording and also for novice...just keep in mind you'll be making better sounding vocals than your friends!
This product is one of AKG's best and it's smoothness is what makes this magic come true, you will not be disappointed. Comes with XRL cables, just hook it up to a pre amp or a mixer with phantom power and your ready to go!
a good recommendation is getting the ART TUBE MP USB pre amp (which is about $99), because you can connect this baby to it and you can record straight into your computer or laptop via any software or DAW you have. Buy this today and start making records!
