5.0 out of 5 stars Mary's Supernatural Tears, March 30, 2007
This review is from: Akita: Mother of God As Coredemptrix Modern Miracles of Holy Eucharist (Paperback)
In 1973 Sr. Agnes Sasagawa reported witnessing the Holy Eucharist emit dazzling light and surrounded by numerous worshipping angels at a Catholic convent in Akita, northern Japan. She then received three profound messages from the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Then some 500 Christian pilgrims and non-Christians observed the statue of the Blessed Virgin shed tears at the convent from 1975 until 1981, for a total of 101 times.

On September 28, 1981, the fourth and most important message came, revealing that God has entrusted the Blessed Virgin with the mission as Coredemptrix in the history of Salvation.

With Her tears and sufferings united with Jesus' Passion, the Blessed Virgin now joins the Church's struggle with Satan, while meditating as a channel of Divine graces to bring the grace of Salvation to our weak, wounded souls.

In a pastoral letter on April 22, 1984, - after a 10-year investigation - Bishop John Shojiro Ito declared the "supernatural character" of the messages and a series of mysterious events in Akita.
