It looks good and very spacious.

The bag hangs a little low due to its' size when using the shoulder strap, but is still easy to manage.

This is a great bag to carry your gear onto a dive boat with.

This is a great bag to carry your gear onto a dive boat with. It has plenty of room for fins, wetsuits, masks, etc. Yet, it folds up nicely to pack into a travel dive bag. The bag material seems fairly durable. There are multiple straps/handle to allow carrying the bag either by hand or over the shoulder.

The bag also comes with an ID tag that you can put your name and contact info on, which is a nice addition.

I purchased the Akona Mesh Boat Duffle Bag to carry my BC, fins, wetsuit, regulators and other gear to and from the dive boat. On the positive side, the bag is fairly well constructed for the price and is large enough to hold a lot of gear. However, it seems to have quite a bit to be desired. My primary complaint is that the bag is extremely awkward to carry. Even with the bag half-full and the compression straps tight, it just doesn't carry easily. If you need a massive bag that can carry a lot of dive gear, this is a good choice. If you are a warm water diver with a travel BC or backplate and wing and not an excessive amount of gear, I suggest looking into a smaller backpack style dive bag.

I had the older version of this bag for years. It was black with orange trim on it. It was great, but after 5+ years of salty scuba gear, the collapsable handle finally rusted up and got stuck in the stored position, so, I upgraded to this one.

This bag is wider and not as thick as the previous design but has about the same capacity. I know it's still new, but the wheels are way better than the previous one and roll very smoothly. I never had a problem with the rpevious model rusting at the wheels, so I dont' expect this one to either, since I assume the axel and bearing assembly is relatively unchanged. The main compartment fits a 7mm dive suit, medium sized BC, booties, mask, snorkel, regulator, dive light, chem lights, and a couple game bags and medium fins no problem. In case you were wondering, the side pockets do not fit a pair of fins, but they fit in the main compartment just fine. The material doesn't seem as thick as the older bag either, but it seams sturdy and durable enough. I wish it had the same handle stitched onto the front of the bag like the older model as that made loading a heavy dive bag much easier. I've been using the black straps across the front as a handle and they have held up so far.

Time will tell if this thing starts to rust, but the handle and slider assembly seems to be made out of a different material, so maybe it will stand up to salty water better over the years. I'll update this review if I get issues with the handle or wheel assemblies and the salty water. Over all, I love the Akona bags and hope this one stands up as well as my previous one.

The gear bag is well made with good zippers and a urethane coated nylon material that appears to be heavy enough to last. That said it is really nothing more than good serviceable duffle. The only pocket is one end pocket. It does not appear to be any better suited to use for diving gear than any other well-made duffle bag made of synthetic materials. The urethane coating on the inside will assure that the bag is fairly weather tight. Dry objects on the inside will stay dry, and wet objects on the inside will stay wet. There is no provision for drainage, and no mesh compartment for wet gear, so plan either carrying wet gear in a different bag, or emptying the bag of any wet objects and drying it quickly. This strikes me as a serious flaw in a gear bag designed for divers.

The bag is large enough to carry the necessary equipment -- mask, fins, BCD, and the end pockets will carry a regulator (and are sized for the Akona regulator bag), but any water entrained with that gear will not drain away so you may want to dry it before you pack it away.

I recognize that this is not a mesh gear bag, and don't expect that level of drainage. Nevertheless, I would not buy this bag,but would look for a bag with provision for some drainage. You don't want to travel or check in for a flight with a bag that contains several pounds of water. For those who prefer a bag with lots of pockets for organizing small items of gear, this is not the bag for you. For those who prefer a few (2 in this case) substantial compartments, this bag would fit your needs.

If your application is not diving, then it is a solid heavy duty duffle. But there are lots of solid heavy duty duffle bags out there, and generally not as expensive as dive bags.

I bought this for my husband who is an occasional diver. He has a lot of equipment and this is perfect for all of his gear. Plus with the mesh his gear will dry out faster. And it holds it form and is easier to transport.
