As a newbie to the Akron area, I learned a lot reading this book, but so did my husband, who's lived in the area all his life.

I love this book! Karen and Joanna have written both an informative and hugely entertaining guide. As a newbie to the Akron area, I learned a lot reading this book, but so did my husband, who's lived in the area all his life. Highly recommended.

As someone who honestly struggled to appreciate Akron for 30+ years, this book brought me such a solid and unique awareness of the city I can't seem to leave!...and perhaps now I (finally) understand why; there is in fact some sort of "magic energy" here...a palpable love of community, of the spirit of collaboration/innovation and most importantly of our shared humanity...and thanks to Karen and Joanna, we now have a tangible way to share this with the world!

I enjoyed this book as a resident of neighboring Stow, Ohio. The pictures that were chosen werrecognizable and beautifully illustrated. I think the author's family was a neighbor of mine at one time. Akronites should be proud of the photos and descriptions in this book.
