5.0 out of 5 stars Al-Kitaab Audio
If you are using Al-Kitaab and not also in an Arabic class, I'd say the audio on the go CD is a must. It's the dialogues and exercises from the DVD that comes with the book, but you can take it wherever you go on your MP3 player. Very helpful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for aural review of Arabic; yet difficult as no english for comparison
If you are studying with Al-Kitaab, this is a real helpful on-the-go downloadable CD (i.e. ipod) that can contribute to aural exposure of the language. However, it is challenging to use. If you are studying with Al-Kitaab, this is a real helpful on-the-go downloadable CD (i.e. ipod) that can contribute to aural exposure of the language. However, it is challenging to use. For example: vocabulary lists. The new arabic vocabulary word is stated, repeated and then used in a sentence. However, the new word is not translated to english, so one must already know the meaning of the sentence, or most of it, to then guess what the new word means. Thus, limited use.

Nonetheless, the Al-Kitaab series of instruction is the best on the market, and the one that all top universities and arabic programs use. This CD should not be used to learn arabic, but instead as a supplement to the program. It also contains EXACTLY the same info on the CD that comes with the book -- but since the CD with the book is not downloadable, this comes in real handy.

Worth the investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars very useful, January 26, 2010
This review is from: Al-Kitaab Part One Audio On the Go (Arabic Edition) (CD-ROM)
Having these Al Kitaab audio tracks has allowed me to study and do the homework for my arabic class in a much more flexible way than I would have been able to if I had been tied to the DVD. I commute on public transit daily and I prefer not to have my computer out on the bus, but this CD has allowed me to work using my iPod. I highly recommend this to anyone studying Arabic with Al Kitaab.

2.0 out of 5 stars Only in Arabic, no English translations, July 22, 2008
This review is from: Al-Kitaab Part One Audio On the Go (Arabic Edition) (CD-ROM)
Since the book, Al-Kitaab, comes with DVDs that do not play on a CD player, I was hoping to find some audio to help me study my Arabic vocabulary during my long commutes.

I bought this CD because I thought it would say the words in English & then in Arabic, or vice versa. But it doesn't. After listening to the first couple of chapters, it appears to be all in Arabic.

That's fine if you are reading the book while listening to a CD or MP3 player, but I can't do that while driving. Some words I could recognize, but some I don't. So it doesn't really help. I am so disappointed and cannot return the CD because it's been opened.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must-have companion for Al-Kitaab, February 16, 2008
This review is from: Al-Kitaab Part One Audio On the Go (Arabic Edition) (CD-ROM)
A must-have companion to Al-Kitaab. Play it in your car, put on your headset and play it while on the bus, train, or waiting in the doctor's office. It helps to let it play while sleeping or on your boom-box while taking your shower or bath! Reinforcement is key for learning the correct grammar, and don't forget, plurals, plurals, plurals! Correct pronunciation, and trying to acquire the accent is so helpful with this take-along CD. I highly recommend it.
