The thing that fascinated me most about this book, is the way in which the author shows a common theme in the lives of a variety of Sufi thinkers and mystics. One almost feels as if you were there in person, standing next to these profound individuals. What also makes this book interesting, is you learn a great deal about the lives, teaches, and influences of the most prominent figures in Islamic and Sufi philosophy and teaching.
