5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read this Al Qaeda!, September 22, 2007
This review is from: The Al Qaeda Reader (Hardcover)
Very well done, frightening stuff to learn about Al Qaeda. The author puts their own EVIL words into print where we infidels can see what they are really up to! If you want to see what they have said about their goal of world domination, and why they believe this is their mission, read this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Al Qaeda's Contradictory Words to Americans and Muslims, March 7, 2008
This review is from: The Al Qaeda Reader (Hardcover)
Anyone interested in either al-Qaeda or radical Islam and its goals and ideologies must read this book. The way it's organized---theology and propaganda---helps show the reader how al-Qaeda constantly contradicts itself, by saying one thing to Americans (we are fighting merely in self-defense) and the exact opposite to Muslims (we must hate all non-Muslims and wage jihad against them, tell they submit to Islam). It is actually amazing that the writings from this book haven't been referenced more by the media, since, till this day, the media continues to report al-Qaeda's messages to us that say the same old thing (leave us alone and we'll leave you alone). It would also be great if one of these "experts" who assure us that if only we would give in to al-Qaeda's political demands the war would be over, would be honest and counter-balance al-Qaeda's "olive-branches" with their till now secretive writings to other Muslims about how the infidels must be hated and fought no matter what---till they either convert, live in submission, or die.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hate, November 4, 2007
By
P. N. Anderson (Huntsville, AL USA) - See all my reviews
(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Al Qaeda Reader (Hardcover)
The author has translated from Arabic writings of Al Qaeda leaders Al Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden. The book is filled with praises to Allah and references to "blessed events" such as 9/11. Hatred of all things American is evident throughout. Some of the hatred is claimed to be because of the American support of Israel against Palestine. Democracy is attacked because laws are made by the people and according to Islam only Allah can make the law or "sharia." Opposition to moderate Islam is expressed ie., efforts to coexist with the Western world. It is declared that radical Islam is the real Islam and it is the duty of Muslims to force the Infidel's submission to Allah. Finally, specific things wrong with America are listed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helps in spotting al Qaeda propaganda in the media war, January 10, 2010
This review is from: The Al Qaeda Reader (Hardcover)
Such highly acclaimed books as "Imperial Hubris" are based on what the author has learned from listening to the terrorists complaints in English directed to the West. An earlier reviewer put it nicely, "how al-Qaeda constantly contradicts itself, by saying one thing to Americans (we are fighting merely in self-defense) and the exact opposite to Muslims (we must hate all non-Muslims and wage jihad against them, till they submit to Islam)".
For example, Michael Scheuer, in his Imperial Hubris accepts bin Laden's false premise that this third wave of terror (the first commenced in 632 AD and the second in 1300 -- See Karsh, Islamic Imperialism, a history) is in response to specific complaints such as US aid to Israel and US resumption of hostilities with Iraq. In fact, this is what Dr. Andrew Bostom, the physician/author of Legacy of Jihad and the srticle Doctors of Death, described as a fulminant recrudescence of a millennium of holy war. It is likely that the seeds of the third wave were planted in Egypt in 1928 by the formation of the Muslim Brotherhood, but because of lack of funds showed up only in the British Mandate and later in Israel. When the immense flow of petrodollars became available from Saudi Arabia, See Dore Gold, Hatred's Kingdom. after the formation of OPEC and use of the funds by the Wahabis to build mosques and madrasas all over the world to spread their doctrine, violence started breaking out against the West in the 70's.

It seems to me that those authors are simply republishing al Qaeda propaganda.

5.0 out of 5 stars radical Islamists in their own words, December 31, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Al Qaeda Reader (Hardcover)
This is a superb collection of radical Islamists in their own words. Readers don't have to take any politician's or pundit's word liberal, moderate, or conservative on the content of this book and the reason why jihadists are attacking us, as these are the words of our enemies themselves. Every Westerner should read this material if they wish to know what lies at the heart of the current conflict between radical Islamists like bin Laden and al-Qaeda and the United States and other Western nations. It is not just the American presence in Muslim lands or the killing of Muslims in war that drives the jihadists to attack us, it is our very way of life and the writings in this book prove it. If you want to know why jihadists are attacking us and why they hate us, which seems to be a prominent issue since 9-11, read this book and you'll know why.

5.0 out of 5 stars Going to the Heart of the Enemy, February 8, 2008

Brenton A. Bleier (Granite Bay, CA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Al Qaeda Reader (Hardcover)
This is an extraordinary antidote to the mushy-headed liberalism of our time about Mohamedanism as a 'religion of peace'.

The bulk of this book is four important 'theological' treatises by the pagan terrorists bin Laden and al Zarqawi on why pagan Mohamedanism must always be at war with Chriatianity. Liberals, who think that they can withstand Mohamedanism by abandoning Christianity for 'multiculturalism' will be appalled by the tight reasoning of these men from their pagan presuppositions. These are not 'lunatics' in the mental ward sense of the term; they reason clearly and 'reasonably' from their failed presuppositions.

One comes away from this visit to a foreign landscape with a renewed appreciation that nothing short of a renewed commitment to the truths of Christianity can withstand the current assault of pagan Mohamedanism.
