Being a lifelong Alabamian, I thought I had pretty much heard it all. This book destroyed that belief! I have laughed through most of this book, scratched my head through parts of it, and made a rather lengthy list of "Must See" places to visit with my Canon XS! Wonderfully written. Great book!

I have lived most of my life in Alabama and believe that this should be required reading for anyone who has ever lived here, who currently resides here or has any interest in the silly, strange history of our fair state. Andy Duncan revives a fascination long-dormant since 5th grade Alabama History. He writes about Alabama's well-known residents and some of Alabama's little known (or long forgotten) characters. After reading Alabama Curiosities, I remember why I love Sweet Home Alabama and why the stars fell here so long ago.

this is a fun book with all sorts of useless trivia and day trip suggestions.
