From the Back Cover

Tired of the same old tourist traps? Whether you’re a visitor or a local looking for something different, Alabama Off the Beaten Path shows you the Yellowhammer State you never knew existed. Stand in the spot where the “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement” was arrested and where the Montgomery bus boycott began. Shop for butter churns and collie puppies at one of the South’s oldest and largest “trade days.” Or cheer on your favorite footless friend in the world's only rattlesnake race. So if you’ve “been there, done that” one too many times, get off the main road and venture Off the Beaten Path.

For a walk on the wild side, head to Untamed Mountain in Dekalb County, home to more than 120 rescued animals ranging from the barnyard variety to exotic big cats.  Page 23.

This review is from: Alabama Off the Beaten Path, 9th: A Guide to Unique Places (Off the Beaten Path Series) (Paperback)
Although I am a native Alabamian, I spent most of my adult years outside the state. When I retired, I returned to Alabama. This book brought me up to date on things I missed or places and events I did not know about. It's an exceptional book. In fact, I have already purchased extra copies for my friends.
