5.0 out of 5 stars If you drive and drink coffee, you need this!
Originally I was going to purchase a Stanley or Thermos brand but they were too cumbersome and dangerous to use with one hand. I didn't want a standard water bottle because it would be to hot to hold. Then I ran across the Migo 16oz insulated bottle.

I have owned this thermos for about one week, and for that week I was decently satisfied with it. It kept my tea hot for hours on end, and was spill proof when completely sealed.

This thermos (as stated by the product description) has a screw top cup and another screw top pouring mechanism that is controlled with a little button. You press the button to open the pouring mechanism and push a little plastic bit on the side to close the mechanism (and the button on top pops back up).

As I said before, it was completely spill proof when it was 'completely sealed,' however, it would drip from the bottom of the pouring screw top whenever I had it open and poured. It was an issue I was willing to deal with, as careful pouring would keep my pants and shirt from being stained. Unfortunately, no amount of screwing or unscrewing the pouring screw top fixed this issue.

However, it prompted me to start browsing Amazon looking for a new thermos. So, about half an hour ago, I was browsing reviews of Thermoses and drinking tea as I did so. I unscrewed my MiGo's pouring screw top to add more liquid, and I heard a disconcerting click. The pouring mechanism broke, and it is now permanently on "pour" mode. The MiGo probably knew I was looking at other Thermoses and broke itself to spite me. Anyways...

So, a week after purchasing, with regular, non-stressful use, my once 3/5 star product has become a 1/5 star product. Again, I never handled this product with any sort of roughness and the pouring mechanism broke simply from using the product the way it was intended.

I am now currently looking for another brand (or in the least, a differently designed pouring mechanism) in earnest.

I hope other purchasers have better luck.

Originally I was going to purchase a Stanley or Thermos brand but they were too cumbersome and dangerous to use with one hand. I didn't want a standard water bottle because it would be to hot to hold. Then I ran across the Migo 16oz insulated bottle.

The Migo bottle is a stroke of genius to say the least! It's a thermos and drink bottle all rolled into one. The cup easily unscrews and the bottle's screw-on cap has a built-in easy-to-use pour/drink spout. You just push a button on the top to take a drink; simple as that. The bottle is super easy to clean and the integrated drink cap seals very well. If you plan on taking a long road trip you will love all of the great features this bottle you give you.

One thing to note: If your car has standard cup holders (Starbuck coffee cup size) then the Migo bottle won't fit. I would say it's plenty safe to have it sitting on the passenger seat and not worry about it leaking.

4.0 out of 5 stars As Good as the 1st Generation Bottle, March 13, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: MiGo 0.5L Senja Bottle (Kitchen)
Which is to say, because it's a vacuum bottle, it keeps hots hot for 6-8 hours. However, this 2nd generation bottle has the same "flawed" cap design as the 1st gen.

There was actually nothing wrong with the stainless body of the 1st gen bottle I had bought 10 years ago, but a moldy funk smell developed in the cap that any number of different attempts to remove failed on. MiGo doesn't offer replacement caps. So I purchased a new bottle, hoping for an improved cap.

Nope. Unfortunately the new cap is slightly larger than the old one, so it can't be used on the 1st gen bottles.

So, I recommend immediately washing the bottle after each use, and especially if you add dairy products to the brew in the bottle. If you're lazy, or prone to forgetting to wash and allow this to dry, the cap will eventually go bad.

So, a good bottle that keeps liquids hot for a reasonable amount of time, but an iffy cap design that is difficult to clean.

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh...not so great, June 28, 2011

Pros: Keeps liquid piping hot for hours and heavy duty.
Cons: The pour spout dribbles liquid after you're done pouring and it's really hard to clean the lid.
This definitely was not worth the price I paid for it at Target. Unfortunately I'm stuck with it unless it breaks. There is no way to really clean the inner part of the lid. I've been trying with a toothpick.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted One Week, May 24, 2010
This review is from: MiGo 0.5L Senja Bottle (Kitchen)
Bought at Target on Sunday. Worked great for four days and then on Friday the leaking started. Every time I poured: drip, drip, drip from the top of unit back down through the seal and out unto the table. No amount of tightening helped. Too bad. I really liked the the push button top. Unit kept tea hot for the whole day.

1.0 out of 5 stars Leaks when you pour!, March 24, 2010

It does its job in keeping the liquid hot, but every time you pour, it leaks!! If you try to drink out of it, it will get on your shirt/pants every time. If you are pouring into a cup, it will work, but leak down the side onto the table (or your keyboard if you are using it next to the computer...eek!

I don't recommend this item solely because it is so leaky.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stays hot all day, September 1, 2009
This review is from: MiGo 0.5L Senja Bottle (Kitchen)
I bought this thermos a while ago, and I absolutely love it. My tea stays piping hot (not just warm) for hours on end. There is a small issue with drippage when I pour using the pouring mechanism, but for something that seals so well and keeps my tea hot all day, I can overlook that. The thermos has an attractive design, is easy to clean, and is very light (w/o liquid, of course). I plan on using it at the office and for all sorts of camping trips!

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps coffee warm all day, June 9, 2009
This review is from: MiGo 0.5L Senja Bottle (Kitchen)
I've been using my MiGo bottle daily for ~1.5 years now. The cap has held up well and still maintains a tight seal. It can keep coffee warm for up to 8 hours.

As others have mentioned, the cap closing and opening mechanism has some inaccessible moving parts, and is hard to clean. Occasionally, I clean this bottle by filling it with hot water and baking soda, let it sit for a couple hours, and then pour it out through the cap. That does a pretty good job of cleaning it.

Opening the cap is simple - just push the button to open and pour. No need to unscrew the cap as on other bottles! The aluminum cover over the cap can be used as a coffee cup, so there is no need to bring along anything else.
