Being disabled, with often shaky and clumsy hands, I tend to splash and spill a lot of coffee from my mug on the way back to my home office -- even while in my wheelchair! This Aladdin mug is perfect for several reasons: it is large and well-insulated -- saving me trips back to the kitchen coffee machine, it has a drink-thru cover -- so no more splashes, and it has a wide, non-skid base -- so I cannot knock it over! This mug is fairly pricey, but it is worth every penny to a person like me! (Also, it would probably be great for you commuters!) And it takes a while to ship, so order with that in mind...

Ignore that last review. These things are AMAZING. The last reviewer is uninformed and doesn't know how to follow directions. First off, it says very clearly on the bottom of the mug, DO NOT MICROWAVE. This direction is actually molded into the plastic itself, not printed on. And there is foil inside, and as most of us learned when we were children, you do not put any sort of metal in the microwave in the first place. As for the weight... it's somewhat heavy because it's almost completely solid plastic all the way through! It is against federal law to use lead in any sort of product that has anything to do with food or drink, so I'm not sure where the last reviewer got that one from. No lead... period. It's weight lends to it's excellent stability, this thing does NOT tip over unless you literally punch it. It's stury and solid and has this neat little rubber ring on the bottom that keeps it from slipping too. I dropped mine the other day on concrete from waist height and the thing wasn't even scratched. SOLIDLY BUILT. It also has the directions "handwash only" on the bottom, do not put it in the dishwasher!

I have had no problems with the placement of the screw lid. I find it efficiently placed and easy to drink from with no problems whatsoever. As for the difficulty drinking from it without the lid... it's a **Travel Mug**, not a coffee cup, it's supposed to be that way. You aren't supposed to use it without the lid.

It keeps hot things hot for hours and cold things cold for many hours. It does it job as well if not better than anything else out there. It's the best travel mug that I've ever owned. I've bought several for family and friends as where I work at we are only allowed to use mugs with spill-proof lids. These things are all the rage and now everyone wants one and wants to know where I got it from. Others have figured out the quality of these mugs as well, which is why when Amazon gets any at all in stock they sell out the same day. I highly recommend these!

Don't microwave it, and don't put it in the dishwasher!

This was overall a good product. It holds a lot of coffee, has grip on the bottom for no slip, and with a turn of the top can be used for right or left handed people without taking the lid off. This product I bought as a gift and he loves it!

I have been on a quest for a coffee mug that is dishwasher safe, spill proof and 20 oz. I thought I had found what I was looking for with this item which, as a bonus, was pretty cheap.i

So wrong.

Even though the description says dishwasher safe - the item itself says "hand wash only" on the base.

I was going to return it but our 2 yr old wanted to hold it. He was walking around with it when he dropped it.It broke instantly. It is not like it fell from a great height - he is barely 3 feet tall! Don't be fooled by the appearance this is NOT a sturdy mug!

The only good thing about this mug is that it is pretty decent looking.

Save your money and buy a different mug. This mug is not insulated and does not hold the temp very long. It also can't be microwaved due to a foil band inside the outer shell.

I bought this specifically for its fat base and large capacity (20 ounces) for when I went to a resort in Jamaica to hold my frozen drinks and not tip over when I was tipsily reaching for it. It performed admirably! Constant 85 degree weather and my drinks stayed frozen for hours. This mug bobbed in chlorinated pools and salty oceans for hours at a time for two weeks straight. No matter how many times I rinsed and washed it still retained it's coatings. Nothing flaked off and thru-out the abuse I gave it it looked as good as new when I returned to the states.

As others have stated - no dishwasher, no microwave. It is my experience that this is an excellent product - the buyer just needs to be aware of it's limitations.

This is a great mug for keeping things warm. Have really enjoyed this large mug, and it's ease of use.

I bought this for my boyfriend who always hated how his mugs were so small. This one is huge and he loves it. It's definitely great for using around the house. It's not a great travel one though as it is not leak proof and does not fit cup holders.

Just got this mug for my Valentine:) It is a nice mug. HAND WASH ONLY PLEASE:) My Valentine was delighted with his new mug. Very large NONE tippy cup. Nice smooth design. Base of cup is very heavy and should stay on the seat even with my husbands driving. Ha Ha
It has a nice slide close top. He was marveling at the two different places from where you can drink from the cup. Needless to say, he was very happy with his new Latte' travel mug. He is a commuter and will love the size and portability of the mug.
Thanks for a great product. A little spindy, but my Valentine is worth it:)

The mug is a little bit big and a little bit heavy but other than that is is OK.
