Product Description

Aladdin Lamps from The Aladdin Mantle Lamp Company are Kerosene Hurricane Mantle oil lamps that are still regarded as the best available. The principle of the Aladdin lamp burner is to produce a blue flame (virtually 100 % combustion) for maximum heat output. This heat causes the mantle to incandesce due to its unique chemical composition and properties. The Aladdin emits approximately 2500 BTUs of heat per hour. The Aladdin lamp emits 60 candlepower of white light-No pumping-No noise-No smoke-No Danger. So easy to use, all you need is a match. The Aladdin Hurricane lantern is the only lamp of this type manufactured today. An Aladdin Mantle lamp, ready to light in case of emergency power outage, provides much comfort in the household that plans ahead. It has also gone a long, long way toward solving the lighting problem for rural homes, with its abundance of soft, mellow, modern, white light. Aladdin light makes evening reading, writing or sewing a pleasure. No other kerosene lamp can rival Aladdin's distinctive lines and classic beauty. All models use the same proven oil burner.

A bright, silent, long-lasting, non-electric light.

We are using a heating type K-1 kerosene and it has very little odor compared to the other lamps that fume us out.

This is the second Aladdin lamp I've purchased. This lamp is extremely bright, enough to read by or whatever you need to do. Totally silent, unlike Coleman liquid fuel pressurized lanterns, but almost on that scale of brightness. Power outages, getting ready for the zombie apocalypse, or even if you forgot to pay your electric bill... this is perfect for! This is a piece of art that out performs most household emergency lights. It is stunningly beautiful, and has received many compliments from my guests. When you get the lamp, you will notice the glass work on this one is amazing. It looks somewhat like honeycomb. I took a picture so you can see this.

Ordered for a gift, she loves oil lamps. This is by far the highest quality one we own now. Will be buying more.
This lamp gets very bright, and puts out massive amounts of heat, great for a warm atmosphere in the winter months. We are using a heating type K-1 kerosene and it has very little odor compared to the other lamps that fume us out. The quality is magnificent and the value is there!

A bright, silent, long-lasting, non-electric light. Just don't use it where knocking it over is a possibility or in locations where something flammable is within three feet of the top of the lamp chimney - if you do, it will start a fire.

These Aladdin lamps (all mantle types) are NO GOOD! I own one and never use it. They are very finicky, always changing flame hight to either way to much, or way to little flame….all by themselves. Don't buy one unless you want to get up and adjust it every 5 minutes. The thin glass chimney broke on installation right off the bat. The mantels don't work well at all, some small areas burn bright, other areas not at all. They are also hard to light. I bought an EXTRA tall glass globe trying to improve the draft and get a brighter burning mantel. This didn't do much. Now for the price…..This thing is WAY WAY to expensive for what it is, even if it did work properly. Naturally any replacement parts are also outrageously priced. This rediculous thing is all hype and no function. You can buy 10 regular oil lamps for the price of one of these goofy lamps…..how much more light would that give you? This is the kind of american made junk that gave "made in america" a bad reputation back in the 60s and 70s. NOW the parts are made in china for dirt cheap…. and the company inflates the price 400 or 500% and sells a few just to stay in business. They don't give a s*** that the things just don't work. They got your money and you get junk that doesn't work. It's a bad design. Steer Clear!

You can buy a brand new Colman duel fuel lantern that burns reg "unleaded" car gas (which is ALWAYS available everywhere) and puts out 10 times more light for 40 bucks on Amazon. Thats what I am going to do. Why waste $200-$300 on these junkers! I'm sure sorry I did. Live and learn I guess.

Also….if you look online, you can find 14" tall glass globes that fit a normal oil lamp for $10.
