These had excellent reviews, and I wanted a new travel mug. As someone noted, this one doesn't prevent spills - I just cleaned up a mess and know this for a fact. Be sure to put it in the cup holder if there's any chance it could shift. Also, it doesn't keep my coffee very hot. After about 45 minutes it's lukewarm. On top of that, if the cup isn't full, and you tilt it to drink, it can come out really fast and spill all over you. This was only my second day using the mug, and all of these things have already happened. I wanted this to replace a good metal mug that I really liked, except that it was very difficult to clean inside the lid (around the spring release mechanism). But this has not been a step in the right direction as far as cleaning goes! The mug itself is easy to clean, but it has resulted in time spent cleaning spilled coffee and reheating cold coffee in the microwave.

*The lid screws on tight and spill proof, but there is a half-moon-type of opening on top that you're supposed to drink out of. The only way to 'close' it is with the flat piece of plastic that twists over the opening or to the side so you can drink. If the mug is full and you turn it upside down or on its side... yes, it will leak. If you have it full and twist the cover shut while you drive or go out to your car, you're not going to have spilling issues. There is a 1/2" lip that goes all the way around the top to keep your liquid from going over the side and spilling.

Great tumblers. Microwave/dishwasher safe, spill resistant (not spill proof mind you) cups that are also environmentally friendly. They also maximize the amount you can take with you and expect to fit in the average car cup holder. I think you would have to be using a rather small microwave in order for it not to fit, but I think medium to large sized microwaves shouldn't give you any trouble. It is true that they don't provide perfect insulation, but I can't say in the many travel mugs I've used over the years that they are any worse. I find they keep things warm for several hours, but if you're expecting boiling hot, you won't be happy and I'd recommend buying one that is electric that plugs in to keep things hot.

I have four of these mugs because I love that they are microwave and dishwasher safe. They do a good job keeping your drink warm for about an hour (but not much longer). The lid has a smallish opening for drinking (half-moon shaped, as another reviewer noted) and a small hole meant to let air in as liquid is coming out of the drink hole. One problem I've run into is that if there is liquid in that small hole on the lid, then very little liquid will come out of the drink hole making it difficult to drink. I constantly have to blow into the small hole to clear any liquid there. I would also caution not filling up the mug too high because the lid of the mug is not leak proof.

This is the best travel cup on the market. I have had many of the Aladdin Travel cups for several years and bought one for every family member for Christmas. They are microwave and dishwasher safe and keep a beverage hot or cold for a long time. My coffee stays hot and fresh for a 40 minute commute every morning.

I really like this mug, however, it does tend to leak a little out the opening on the lid even when it's closed/locked in place. I've never had it spill on me though, so it's not bad. Other than that I like this mug and would recommend it to others. I like the smooth texture and color of the mug too. It is very easy to carry around.

We are trying to be more environmentally conscious as a family so we no longer purchase disposable cups, and try to take our beverages from home versus buying at Starbucks, etc. These cups were a reasonable price and they do the basic job. They do not keep the beverages hot or cold for hours, like some of the metal cups I have purchased, but for a ride to school or work they are all that you need. The lids fit well, although the contents spill if the cup is knocked over even when the lid has the cover closed. A huge bonus is that they are dishwasher safe. For the price, I think they are terrific.

This is the perfect multi-purpose mug! Not only is it great for the environment (recycled and recyclable), it's incredibly convenient (microwave and dishwasher safe!). It's hard to find a mug that you can stick in the microwave and in the dishwasher so this was great to find!! It fits in the car cup holder and it has slightly textured grip. Also, the top isn't completely leak proof, but it does a great job of keeping everything contained, short of turning the cup upside down. It is by far the best travel mug I have ever owned!!

I liked the idea of a recycled cup for my breakfast tea, and it provided me with the "tool" to brew my own, instead of buying tea at work.
Here are the pros: keeps fluids hot about 2 hours, nice color, convenient to drink from, nifty cover that allows coverage of the holes on top and it is dishwasher safe!
Here are the cons: Though it may be microwaveable...it is TOO TALL to fit in my microwave, it doesn't fit the cup holders in my car perfectly, so a sharp turn could flip it out of the holder, as it is very tall.
Altogether I am pleased and happy with the mug. (P.S. I have the mug in green, not pink, I don't know why it is having me review this color...but the green color is very nice.)

I love this mug -- out of all the coffee mugs I've tried and used to transport coffee/tea from home to work, this is by far the best one.

Only small problem... doesn't keep coffee warm for more than an hour... so, if you aren't planning on using a microwave to reheat your beverage, you're probably better off getting one that has insulation properties.

Oh, and it is not completely spill-proof, so you can't close the lid and throw it in your backpack.
