ONLY 6 VIDEO'S ?!,

This review is from: Alan Jackson - Greatest Hits Volume II, Disc 1 (DVD)
There is no text referring to how many video's are on this ALAN JACKSON GREATEST HITS 2 DVD, (or which ones for that matter). 6, Yes that's it, 6. You might think that all the video's that were made of the songs on the CD would be on this DVD. Nope. (The cover art on the DVD and CD are the same, somewhat misleading). The video's include 1-It's Five O'Clock Somewhere. 2-I'll Go On Loving You. 3-Little Bitty. 4-It's Alright To Be A Redneck (which isn't on the CD). 5-When Somebody Loves You. 6-Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning). Where are the video's for DRIVE (FOR DADDY GENE), WWW.MEMORY, WHO'S CHEATIN' WHO? Or any of the others. True this is a low price, however I still feel cheated. I would have been willing to pay more to have all the video's since the 1st GREATEST HITS COLLECTION. Which is another DVD I would like to see out, (providing all the songs will be included like the VHS version).

lots of quality, if not much quantity,

This review is from: Alan Jackson - Greatest Hits Volume II, Disc 1 (DVD)
This DVD contains five of Alan Jackson's videos that come from his Greatest Hits Volume II CD, as well as "It's All Right to be a Redneck" off the "When Somebody Loves You" CD, and are a treat; it's priced reasonably and packaged as "Disc 1", so doesn't last long (approximately 23 minutes), but the content is nevertheless strong.
Alan's excellence as a songwriter, musician, and performer make him one of my favorite artists in any genre, and I especially love the beautiful Kieran Kane song, "I'll Go on Loving You", with it's floating dancer and terrific effects. The DVD comes with no credits for the videos, as far as authorship or director; you get the six videos, and no more, but it's not quantity but quality here, and there's a lot of quality, and worth it for "I'll Go on Loving You" alone, as well as "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)", which means so much to so many of us. # 1, "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere"; the big hit Alan co-authored and sings with Jimmy Buffett, and includes two bartenders with some fancy moves ! # 2, "I'll Go on Loving You"; Kieran Kane's gorgeous song, with a perfect interpretation by Alan. One of my favorite videos by any artist in any genre. # 3, "Little Bitty"; Tom T. Hall's song is full of rich color and fun, with a dancing scarecrow. # 4, "It's Alright to be a Redneck"; very entertaining with lots of good reasons from a diverse group of people. # 5, "When Somebody Loves You"; Alan wrote this lovely song, and it's filmed in b&w, with some marvelous stop-action photographic effects. # 6, "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)", Alan's moving lyrics express what many of us felt on that tragic day in September, and his teary-eyed rendition is heartfelt and sincere.

Greatest Hits Video Collection 1 and 1/2,

I think it is great that another Video Collection has been released. I just would have thought that the newest release, would have picked up where the first Collection ended. And I would have thought the first Collection would have been released on DVD by now also. I guess we have to wait until after the first of the year for the rest of the videos?

Contains the definitive expression of America on 9/11,

The prize of this collection is Jackson's "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)". Mr. Jackson spoke for the voice of American in this heartbreaking song. It's a voice of tragedy, as well as salvation - and hope. Singing with a most persuasive bittersweetness, Jackson captured, for all time, the sentiments all of us felt on that awful day when, indeed, the world stopped turning. Thanks to Jackson for this heartfelt expression of a black day that affected all of us. He is the voice of America. The tears of tragedy are eloquently conveyed; it is the song for the ages.

I am very much pleased with the content of this DVD. My only negative comment is that there isn't any place on the cover that tells the length of time it plays.

Only six video's on new dvd,

As a European Alan Jackson fan it's not easy to see your star. Only once a year during the CMA awards on BBC. So i was surprised when there was this new DVD greatest video hits vol. 2. I was dissapointed by the fact that there where only six video's on this dvd. Oké the price is absolute cheap. but why not put all the video's on one dvd? there's time enough for this. The same trouble we had last year with Tim McGraw greatest hits dvd (only 9). But what is on this dvd is great good sound (5.1) is clear pics. Let's wait for part two. Oh and it's region free, compattable in European (R2) players.

I've been an AJ fan for a long time. I bought this greatest hits, not knowing there was a disc 2. I love #1, but cannot find out what videos are included on disc 2. I'm hoping it includes "Remember When". I also found that they are now selling the CD as 1 disc, when the original had 2 with it. I was releived that I got the 2 disc set when it first came out instead of being decieved after the fact. It is still awsome, but I am really glad I got the CD when I did. The videos on Disc 1 are It's 5 O'Clock somewhere, I'll go on loving you, Little Bitty,It's alright to be a redneck,When somebody loves you & Where were you WTWST ( Live Version from the CMA's). I know we all saw that show! If not, you'll see it on this DVD. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A great collection of AJ songs,
This review is from: Alan Jackson - Greatest Hits Volume II, Disc 1 (DVD)
A wonderful collection of his most popular songs. The only downside is the disc isn't long enough. It would've been better if they combined all the songs into one disc instead of two
