From Library Journal
In this latest entry in the excellent "Off the Beaten Path" series, Miller, who has lived in Alaska for over 40 years and written the Alaska sections of traditional guidebooks such as Fodor's USA and Fodor's Pacific Northwest Corner, offers all the features we've come to expect from this series: history; popular culture; folklore; museums, monuments, and national parks; places to stay, especially for camping, B&Bs, and hostels; and commercial tours and sightseeing opportunities by air, land, and sea. Miller gives prices he guarantees to be accurate as of publication, but he advises the reader to call first, and he gives phone numbers for almost everything. He divides his guide into five regions of Alaska: Southeastern, South-central, Interior, Far North, and Southwestern. Miller also includes a sixth section on Canada's Yukon Territory because it is adjacent to Southeastern and Interior Alaska. Highly recommended for public libraries.
