A nice introduction to Alaska's berry bounty!,

The Alaska Wild Berry Guide and Cookbook is an excellent source for someone interested in making use of the many delicious wild berries that dot the Alaskan landscape. With almost 50 kinds of berries growing wild here on the Last Frontier, you're sure to be close to one or more that will work for jam, jelly or some delectable baked goods. The book's color photos are particularly helpful. My only real complaint with this book is that I'd almost prefer to have a smaller "pocket-sized" guide (sans recipes) for times when I'm out in the woods gathering berries. This would be particularly helpful for those hikes when you're bringing along a visitor or someone knew to Alaska. I'm looking for a specific kind of berry, but they often want to know the names of several varieties and it always seems to be the very ones that have long-since gone from my mind! Despite this small complaint, I give this book 5 stars and recommend it to anyone wishing for more information on berries in the Greatland!

Error in cobbler recipe,

I have owned this excellent cookbook for many years, however, yesterday was the first time I made the "Simple Cobbler" recipe. It was a flop. There must be an error - an omission. I expect the flour & sugar mixture should have also included baking powder. The cake part would not bake at all. Watch out!

I live in Alaska where many delicious wild berries grow. My neighbor made me some wonderful jams and jellies for Christmas last year and I asked her for the recipes. She said they were in the WILD BERRY COOKBOOK so I went online to AMAZON and was able to purchase this book (slightly used) for $1.99 plus shipping costs. The book was in perfect condition with the exception of a few small stains on the outside pages, and I was thrilled to buy this book for under $5.00 for everything! This book has the best recipes and I am looking forward to Alaska's berry season this summer. I give this product five stars!~ It also arrived in a timely manner! Thank you.
