If you're seriously looking at moving to Alaska, this is one of many items to purchase in preparation. Provided answers to questions I hadn't
thought of myself. I drove there in 2007. My home is currently on the market and I'll be moving to Fairbanks when it sells. Anybody want a log home in SE MN?

Overall, I rate this DVD as being excellent.

It is meant to provide a good thorough introduction into the who's, why's, what's, and how to's of fulfilling the dream of moving to Alaska.

The creator of this DVD includes information on making a living, cost of living, cost of shipping items to Alaska, buying a home or homesteading, living in a city or the wilderness, types of land to avoid, seasonal concerns, wildlife concerns, URLs for further information, and many other issues that anyone considering a major move like this needs to consider.

This DVD also includes many forms that one can print out from a computer, forms one would need to get the process of making your Alaskan dream come true.

Please note that this is an informational DVD to inform people as to how moving to Alaska can be done. It is not a National Geographic or Discovery Channel video full of scenes showing the beautiful and rugged Alaskan landscape or wildlife, although there are a few scenes and pictures of such.

The speaker in the video presents himself in a pleasant manner, coming across as credible and balanced. He gives a wide variety of the pros and cons of making a move to Alaska and to me seems to exude a concern for the viewer to communicate the fact that this is a MAJOR life decision and is not to be pursued impulsively.

If you are considering or even fantasizing about living in Alaska, then this DVD is definitely for you. It is an excellent first step in making this dream come true. It will point you in the right direction for further information and getting the ball rolling for your quest to move to Alaska.
