This is a wonderful collection of choruses and arias from a wide variety of opera. Some of the opera are seldom heard: Mahomet II, Il Lombardi, Salvator Rosa, Moses in Egypt. The combination of aria and chorus is a plus. Although I do not consider Alastair Miles one of the great basses, he has a fine voice which he uses to fine effect in this variety of music. In addition, it is just a pleasant CD to listen to.
