More About the Author

Larry Jaffee is a media professional with more than a quarter century of journalism experience. His career highlights include regularly contributing articles to The New York Times at the age of 23, published in Rolling Stone at 24 and editing the prestigious resort newspaper Fire Island News at 25. Since then, Jaffee has run various magazines, conferences and websites in the entertainment and media industry, including MediaCentral.com, Medialine and Promo. He has taught journalism at Pennsylvania State University (MA, 1986) and Hofstra University (BA, 1980). Since 1993 he has published and edited continuously the Walford Gazette (http://www.wgazette.com), a quarterly newspaper published with permission from the BBC, is the world's only publication dedicated to EastEnders. Each 16-page issue provides behind-the-scenes information about the series. While the Walford Gazette has been a labour of love, Jaffee ranks the newspaper and its offshoot book, Albert Square & Me: The Actors of EastEnders, among his most impressive accomplishments. He lives in New York, and may be reached at lsjaffee@gmail.com

Format: Paperback
As an ardent fan of the EastEnders (and also born in the East End of London) I was looking forward to reading "Albert Square & Me" a collection of interviews compiled and edited by Larry Jaffee from the Walford Gazette, a newspaper devoted to the long-running English TV series Eastenders (also broadcast in the U.S.). Although I had read these interviews before, some were many years ago and long forgotten so, from the two Forewards, the first interview with June Brown (Dot Cotton), to the last interview with Derek Martin (Derek Slater), and, yes, even the Epilogue - I was totally hooked. In some instances it brought tears to my eyes. I felt as if I had come across a "memoir" of family and friends and was eager to be back into their lives. If you are an EastEnder follower you will love it and, if you have never seen the EastEnders I believe, after reading the book you would want to be introduced to the series. Enjoy, as I didAlbert Square & Me: The Actors of EastEnders!

Format: Paperback
Albert Square & Me, by Larry Jaffee the editor of the Walford Gazette, is a must for EastEnders fans. The volume consists of interviews he, Tim Wilson and Dan Abramson conducted over a seventeen-year period with actors from the famous BBC soap opera which is so highly praised and revered in America. For individuals who never subscribed to the Walford Gazette, this volume will be a new-found treasure, and for those who have, you will now have all the interviews in one handy location. As one American PBS station after another drops this expensive show from their offerings, it is even more crucial that someone like Larry Jaffee seeks to create an historical record.

Excellent transaction. Excellent condition. Perfect all around. A great item at a fantastic price. Words cannot describe my experience on Amazon as of late. The item bought was in excellent condition and served its purpose well. Nothing can compare and have nothing ill to say of it, nor do I have anything else to mention that needs concern. Highly recommend for anyone who shops on the internet! Amazon is always the best!
