Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Alberta, the heart of the Canadian West, is a young province whose wild nature and frontier history co-exist with a dynamic, modern and prosperous society. Alberta's landscape is vast and diverse including rich farmlands, oceans of prairie grasslands, limitless northern boreal forests, untamed and fantastic badlands, the ranchland foothills of the Chinook belt and the spectacular, glacier draped peaks of the world-famous Canadian Rockies. This is the Alberta portrayed by the award winning Douglas Leighton, one of Canada's best known landscape and nature photographers. As a native Albertan, Leighton has photographed the colours, moods and moments of his home province with a fresh and revealing vision. The result in the most beautiful portrait of Alberta ever published.
