One of the Best POP Albums of 2003!,
This review is from: Alcazarized (Audio CD)
Alcazar makes great pop music, hell, call it disco music. The first cut on the album is called "I love the DJ" and Alcazar does. The songs are devilishly catchy without being too long or boring. The lyrics mirror the fun and irony of today's society and even "the last days of disco" without missing a beat. The albums takes a musical journey through the different stages of disco, from early sped up R&B music with "Funky Feet" to the final piece, and probably the best song on this album or any other album of 2003, "Someday." This song embodies the greatness of disco songs past while describing a perfect society where everyone gets along. Get "Alcazarized" and enjoy this great POP/DISCO album of 2003!

Alcazar: What American Pop Music Has Missed,
This review is from: Alcazarized (Audio CD)
This LP, although consists of previously released material, is a grand pop effort. This post ABBA / Ace Of Base Swedish quartet leaves NOTHING to be desired within the faction of melodic music.
From the "Upside Down" by Diana Ross sampling, to the overtly original bass lines and synthesizer ticklings: The listener is enveloped by a plethora of POP goodness.

Alcazar - disco pop at its best,
By jrk, by way of sweden (Portland, OR, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Alcazarized (Audio CD)
Going beyond their first album, Casino, Alcazar rounds out its group to an even four with the addition of Magnus Carlsson (then-fiance of band member Andreas Lundstedt). Their lively dance beats are more than enough to make anyone want to get up and move. Following in the traditions of other Swedish super-groups, such as ABBA and Ace of Base, Alcazar (also an a-name, how peculiar...) brings together the old and the new, sampling songs from the '70s and '80s (the hey-days of disco) and mixing them into modern dance beats, along with original works.
A personal favourite on this album is the track 'Love Life,' one that'll make you turn up the volume and hit the 'loop' button. This album is a must-have for any lover of dance and disco-pop. Be sure to include Casino and Alcazar's latest album, Dancefloor Deluxse (a greatest hits album including 3 new releases, and a previously unreleased version of 'Someday', the 2003 Stockholm Pride theme song).
