5.0 out of 5 stars Dynamic Alchemy, October 9, 2000
This review is from: The Alchemist's Handbook (Paperback)
The author of The Jesus Code and fifteen other books has opened for modern eyes another ancient secret formula expressing the eternal paths to self-mastery and co-creation. Price says that conflict and scarcity cannot exist in a universe of love and infinite abundance. So, create your own program for greater joy and fulfillment in life. Realize the power of the mind and the holistic unity of spirit and matter. Allow the Creative Principle to work by dynamically materializing your ideals into the world of form. Price has restored "dynamic alchemy" which began disappearing in the mid-1800's when a particular teaching was promulgated with the specific purpose of proving the objective world was only an illusion. The art of Hermetic Alchemy deals in the mastery of mental forces; the changing of mental vibrations into other vibrations, not changing lead into gold but something that image conveys to our imaginations. We may truly be spirit inhabiting physical bodies, but we do exist temporarily in this material universe. John Randolph Price takes us from the Alchemical Sun to Saturn, and then to Isis, to show us that being prosperous is equivalent to a life of beauty, happiness, and freedom. Burn through to see the eternal truths living in the life of the spirit. Enlightened living comes from working with a spiritual discipline of whatever technique helps you to transcend the physical self and personal ego. Be the Light! Move to the fulfillment of your dreams. Live, enjoy, and prosper!

4.0 out of 5 stars Price emphasises what he has said in other books, March 18, 2002

This review is from: The Alchemist's Handbook (Paperback)
They say that the human subconscious must hear a message over and over again until it takes root in the consciousness and becomes a habit. John Randolph Price has put together a nice little tome that really draws, from what I can see, about six or seven of his previous works. It is a nice synopsis book, but if you are like me, and have read and enjoyed Price's work over the years, you realize that he has said it all before and with a little more detail than you can find in this small volume.

However, I will say that in re-reading the volume years later, I found much more about it that I was ready to hear. The principles are sound and while you may find bits and pieces in his other works, this one applies it to the idea of inner and outer alchemy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Spiritual Guide to Manifesting for Our Times, August 23, 2009
This review is from: The Alchemist's Handbook (Paperback)
The Alchemist's Handbook is a mighty little book, that teases the reader in and out of thought- from contemplation of what is possible for humans who are also Divine, to directed inner work to reach the goal of creating a better, more inspired & prosperous life. Although word "Alchemist" could bring to mind a dusty medieval scientist trying to create wealth by turning 'baser' metals such as lead to gold, this is an Alchemy for our times. As here, we would seek and find the 'gold' of pure consciousness so that whatever we seek, be it great relationships, a beautiful home, a meaningful job etc. is possible. Indeed, this book is a guide to cultivating oneness with the Creator so through this higher vibratory consciousness, not only are material things available, but so is the happiness that materiality cannot promise. While presenting a spiritual philosophy that isn't limited by religiosity, this is primarily a practical book. Anyone who reads enough of John Randolph Price's writings, becomes familiar with his vision, and each volume fills in some of the gaps for the careful reader. I love this particular work, because it provides a plan of action, a blueprint, if you will, for manifesting that which is desired. Popular books & movies such as "The Secret," only tempt us with the idea that we can have, while Spiritual Alchemy provides an action plan. It only makes sense that this will require diligence. John Randolph Price brings together imagery from spiritual history, mythology, mysticism, and the humanities, that I may have seen before in his books; yet I find this pleasing as the more one reads, absorbs,& follows through- the closer one may come to actually co-creating a more heavenly world. Anyone who puts in the focus, attention, and activity would surely deserve it.
