This test detects alcohol consumption above 60 grams/day, which means more than 6 beers per day for the average person.
This test detects Fatty Acid Esters produced by alcohol consumption.
It is useful for:
(1) Identifying persons who are not heavy drinkers;
(2) Proving a parent is fit to have custody of children;
(3) Proving someone does not have an alcohol problem and is fit for a leadership or a safety sensitive job;
(4) Demonstrating someone is long-term abstinent from heavy drinking.
The markers of excessive drinking appear when alcohol is consumed regularly in excess of social drinking patterns. The test sensitivity for this test allows us to report that a person does not have a pattern of regular excessive drinking, commonly called "alcohol abuse."
It takes a week or more for the marker to appear in the hair on the scalp.
We take the first 6 to 12 centimeters of hair when the hair is of sufficient length. That relates to a period of around 3 to 6 months. We require at least 100 mg of hair. That is a cut tuft of hair a bit wider than the size of a pencil diameter and at least 1-1/2 inches in length. The hair can be taken from more than one location on the head, and the sampling site used will be unnoticeable after the hair is collected.
We provide complete instructions for collectors. Collectors should be trained medical or legal personnel. The collection is an important part of the process and needs to be done under strict 'chain of custody' conditions for the sample to be valid.
The report will include the identity details for the sample, and the result for the test. If the results are negative, the test will say so, i.e., the person whose hair sample was tested does not appear to have a pattern of frequent, heavy drinking.

A faee hair folic test looks inside the the hair frolic and not the outside and go's back 6 months.conpared to eig/ets that only go's back 3 months and only looks at the outside of the hair for no fatty acids to do with alcohol.and when I get my test back from the lab i will write a nother review.

AbuseCheck Test #1: FAEE (Fatty Acid Ethyl Esters) FAEE stands for fatty acid ethyl esters, a direct and very specific metabolite of alcohol, produced in the body when alcohol is consumed and digested. This metabolite provides a greatly specific indicator of excessive alcohol consumption over a period of time of up to six months. Studies have showed that FAEE markers are relatively stable in hair, and that the effect of hair care and hair cosmetics on FAEE concentrations does not significantly decrease concentrations.

Grand Canyon University December 27, 2010 Child Abuse and Neglect Child abuse and neglect is a major epidemic in the United States. There are over 3 Million reports of abuse every day. Many Children who are being abused are not part of these statistics because they are being abused by their mothers and fathers, and there is no one there to report the abuse. Many of the parents who abuse their children are under the influence of drugs or alcohol or a combination of both. Do to these addictions most of the time parents do not even know that they are abusing their children. Others hide their abuse by saying the child fell playing or any other excuse they can quickly think of. These children of abuse need your help. The most important thing that can be done for these children is to make sure that they are safe. They must be removed from the home that they are being abused and placed in a home where they are safe. If you suspect abuse or neglect, please report it to your local child protective agency. Many states have toll free numbers where you can report abuse anonymously and possibly save a child's Life.
