5.0 out of 5 stars A good time
A mix between beck and 311. This up and coming band from Pittsburgh recently won the national batle of the bands. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants great party music.

2.0 out of 5 stars I hate to be a bummer
I'm familiar with much of the mid-west music scene and when I picked up this CD I heard the same thing that I've heard when attending a Buzz Poets show... a cover band with rock star aspirations but limited imagination. It (the CD) just doesn't make you think. It's backgound music for a bad party where everyone is talking about when they played high school...

Not only are the Buzz Poets one of the greatest bands out of Pittsburgh, they're one of the best bands in the country! I've been a Buzz Poets fan for sevral years now. Their music fuses many different genres to make an incredibly unique sound. The live shows alway kick ..., and the guys in the band are really cool. I suggust that everyone at least give the Buzz Poets a try...

5.0 out of 5 stars the buzzpoets, November 28, 1999

As a Pittsburgher and someone who closely follows the Buzz Poets this album is definitely the epitome of Pittsburgh rock blended into one hard core, funkified, rock, reggae, ska, hiphop wih a taste of swing. The Buzz Poets have an amazing pallette which they express freely and openly. This live album as excellent as it may be doesn't even begin to induldge you in the wonders of the buzz poets live. Certainly a great present for that music lover in everyone. A little bit of sugar, a little bit of spice, Tripper, Phil and the rest of the crew makes everything nice. A definite unique sound all in it's own. This band is going places.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a masterpiece, but definitely not bad., April 4, 2007

If you have a very select music taste, this probably isn't the band to go with. If you need your music to be studio quality and MTV Music Award worthy, this probably isn't going to be your thing.

However, I love this CD. A friend of mine introduced me to the song "Copenhagen Girl", and since then, I was hooked. After too much wear and tear over the years eventually brutalized my CD beyond recognition, I bought a new one. It was worth it.

Not every song on here is a winner. Some I skip over every single time. But others have become staples on my favourites list. I love this CD. It's wild, it's fun, and sure, it's a bit immature in some areas, but if you don't mind a little free-spirited fun in your music, take a listen. You might just like it.

I dunno what some of you are talking about but the Buzz Poets are awesome. They have different styles in all their music. One moment they can do rap, the next they can do punk. It's amazing. They are energetic and everything you want in a band. This band has alot of potential, it's a shame they don't get recogonized. But, I like liking a band not too many people know of and sharing their music with them. They just have that lil bit more. You know what I mean? I sugest you check them out. It's worth it.

I have no clue on what the first person was talking about the Buzz Poets are a fantastic band that I am glad they are from pittsburgh PA they are full of energy I was only not into the rap and different kinds of music My mainstay was 80s Hair Bands and metal music until one night we went to see the buzz poets at a bar in Pgh and got hooked on the band They play a variety of different styles in their music which puts them in a whole new music catagory you have to judge for your self they are always coming up with new ideas from the first cd they keep moving forward buy the cd and you won't be disappointed and Pretzel sex takes them to a whole level in the music business so buy the cd's and you will be the judge don't take my word or others "Judge for your self" Peace!

It (the CD) just doesn't make you think. It's backgound music for a bad party where everyone is talking about when they played high school football. Capable, but run of the mill musicianship meets junior high locker room joke lyrics. Of course some of the riffs are catchy, but it all ends up a little vacant.

My friend gave me this CD. She said I would love it. Is Pittsburgh really this far behind the times? The sound quality and songs were terrible!
