This review is from: Alcohol:Brain Under the Influence [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Alcohol: Brain Under The Influence is a stimulating, accurate, 43 minute, live-action presentation of how the human brain is affected by alcohol. Clearly explained is why drinking alcohol is pleasurable, how field sobriety tests work, how drinking styles affect blood alcohol levels, and why driving skills become impaired. Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arle Luyendyk discusses alcohol and driving safety. Live demonstrations and reenactments, cutting edge 3D animation, and an original musical score collaborate to enhance the effectiveness of this highly recommended informational video.

Timely and Important Information,

I just got this video and then saw all the stuff in the news about drinking and colege students. Well I'm one of them, and this video finally put together all the messages I'd heard and seen over the last few years. Some of the brain images are technical but really nicely done, better than most of the stuff you see on Discovery. The information on how many drinks it takes to get to different levels of drunk was the most informative I've seen. Arie L. the race car driver was pretty cool too. People, you need to know this stuff!

This was a pretty cool video. There is a huge amount of important information about alcohol effects on the brain and on driving. The music and animations were pretty cool, too, not boring. The information was given in a friendly way - not "preachy" or "stuffy" - just lots of good facts. Definitely worth the time and money. Good for parents and teenagers, or classes.

I made the mistake of not trying to rent this video first. When I bought the VHS I did not think it was going to be is technical. The dialogue was very "cheezy" and the emotional situations where very dull. I'll admit it was informative but it would be way over anyone who be thinking of drinking in the first place. I have seen other videos with a lot more impact on a viewer's opinion. If you are not a anatomy major please stay away from this VHS. Thank you for spending the time to read this.
