Editorial Reviews

Alcohol Fueled Brewtality" was recorded on Black Label Society's Penchant For Violence tour in the summer of 2000 and originally released in early 2001. The tour had seen the debut of the band's new line-up. This was BLS' first live release and the two disc set was completed by five previously unreleased studio tracks including a new acoustic version of "The Beginning...At Last" from their debut "Sonic Brew" album. This full two disc set is now reissued on Armoury Records. © Christ Hewlett --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alcohol Fueled, Incomparable Intensity. Period., August 11, 2001

Well, what else is there to say but that it's simply Zakk doing what he does best: peeling the paint off the walls with a guitar! The thing that jumped right out at me is that his guitar is tuned even lower than the studio Black Label Society recordings, which adds even more thickness and darkness to the sound (if that's even possible) and makes it easier for Zakk to sing live. The musicianship is unparalled and the recording is produced very well. The crowd isn't miked (it seems), and you can hear 'em in the background, but the main focal point is left to the music. I am pretty much in awe every time I hear Zakk play, and this is no exception. From start to finish, a CD well worth your money. All I can say to the Society Dwellers is to grab this if you haven't already

5.0 out of 5 stars Zakk finally stripped down and it works!, February 27, 2003
This review is from: Alcohol Fueled Brewtality Live (Audio CD)
NOTE: I am not one for long reviews...

BLS studio albums are plagued with over-production in the bad sense: too many squealing guitars in the background and "sludgey" tones make a wall of noise that seems to hide the respectable song-writing and downright amazing riffs of Zakk Wylde.

This live album is the exception to that rule. The guitars (and everything else) are recorded flawlessly and the result is energetic and downright breath-taking. His 2nd guitarist is capable of doubling his parts making the solos sound huge and unique for a live recording.

I couldn't stop listening to this one when I first got it. After this, 1919 Eternal showed improvement in his production style... I'm looking forward to the new one.

Highly recommended.
