About the Author

Steven Chin is an N.I.H. Postdoctoral Research Fellow and an assistant research scientist in the Speech Research Laboratory (Department of Psychology) at Indiana University and in the Department of Otolaryngology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He conducts research on atypical speech and clinical phonology. David Pisoni is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Guggenheim Fellow, and winner of the James McKenneCattel Award, Jacob K. Javits Neuroscience Investigator Award, and Claude Pepper Award. He has written extensively on speech perception, production and synthesis; speech analysis and recognition, experimental psycholinguistics, and human memory. Chancellors' Professor of Psychology and Cognitive Science at Indiana University, he serves on the editorial boards of Speech Technology, Computer Speech and Language, and Cognitive Psychology.
