From the Author

Over our years of friendship we have discovered that we each have a unique opinion on the afterlife. We do agree that it is a comforting thought that angels may be among us. If so, it seems only logical there may be a learning curve in passing. We are hopeful that as flawed mortals, new angels are given a great deal of patient training. This premise is a humorous secondary storyline in our books.

For me, this book was just okay. The Shallow End Gals are four women who all die in the beginning of the book, and they become angels. As part of their angel training, they learn how to assist mortals with problems on Earth. They get assigned to an FBI case helping Roger and Paul solve grisly murders.

The reader knows who the killer is before the FBI agents, which was a little different than what I'm used to and I don't particularly like. However, it was interesting to see these angels trying to help the agents solve the crime without getting too supernatural about it. The book was quite silly, with the women acting impulsively with their angel powers at times and just being overall silly. The author also used a lot of italics and bold, formatting that wasn't needed and at times became a bit annoying.

I had to work a little bit to get through the book. The story was not terrible or even bad at all; I just felt like the story was silly and it did not hold my attention like I wanted. I am on the fence about reading the next in the series.

I enjoyed the story and have bought book 2 to see what else is going to happen. This was funny and very serious at the same time like the Movie M.A.S.H. This was a interesting direction to take the story!

The writing was sometimes a little stilted but I appreciated the fact that other than MANY missing commas, there were fewer grammatical errors than in many Kindle books - especially those incorrect uses of pronouns as the object of prepositions. But at the end of the book, it just...ended. No resolution. That made me say, "HUH?" I wouldn't read another one of this author's books.

A few errors:
"He's not at the job sight..." (job SITE)
"He can drag body's fair distances." (BODIES)
"...don't give me a mug with a whole in the bottom..." (HOLE)
"...turned around and laid back down..." (LAY)
"Your damn right I want them." (YOU'RE)
"...to keep them alive long enough for he and Devon..." (Woops, that pronoun error - for HIM and Devon)
"Jeremiah didn't care what the scientists' thought. ("Scientists" in this case is not possessive."
