This is the "Big Book" of Alcoholics Anonymous. I suspect that this single book has saved the lives of more alcoholics than any other book, program, or person to date. While the language is a bit dated, and the spiritual solution is a bit frightening to those desparately seeking solutions; for those of us who suffer from the disease, reading this book and deciding that we would like to try the way of life described was the first step in recovery from a hopeless state of mind and body.
