5.0 out of 5 stars Unique Skate Punk!, June 24, 2000
This review is from: Alcoholiday (Audio CD)
Alcoholiday is an excellent cd. If you are a fan of Mxpx, Screeching Weasel, or Blink 182 you will be a fan of mi6! Songs on this album are pretty awesome. Songs like Jeff Brown have awesome beats, and unique lyrics. Jeff Brown is about some guy who gave mi6 a bad review and how they want him to apologize to them. This is a very funny band, much like Blink 182 but not quite. They have more of a punkier beat and the vocalist is not whining. I strongly suggest you buy this cd it is awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars Blink, MXPX..., July 6, 2000
By A Customer

Fair enough, but don't be in to much of a hurry to pigeon hole these guys. They have that skate punk vibe to them, but they aren't just a rip off band. The Lyrics are honest and on songs like Jeff Brown and Mojo you get a sense of an honest expression of vulnerability. Sarcasm rings through in other places, more standardized punk there.

Musically, look for the dynamic bass stringing its way through a wall of guitar saturation. Lots of nice change ups, good harmonizing through out and the drum work will keep your heart pumping. I recently made the 9 hour drive to Vegas through the middle of the night and it was this cd that got me through the wee hours. It's infectious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vandals Kung Fu is a good label for these guys, July 6, 2000

You'll hear people comparing them to MXPX, Blink and the like. Fair enough, they have that mischevious bay area edge to their punk lyrics. But they've also got very solid bass work (like a punk band should), textured percussion, and thick walls of guitar saturation. "Jeff Brown" showcases the musical talent the infamous review apparently failed to recognise in their original demo (last several tracks of this cd). Now that they've got a solid punk foundation in Kung Fu there's a real chance they can build on that and make the leap to mainstream success. Kung Fu's done that for bands before. This is a chance to be the first kid on your block to own the cd. I just signed ...specifically to buy the new Lunchbox release, but if these guys go anywhere this original self-released CD will be the one to own. Its good for the ego to say, "I knew way back when..." Not that stardom is assured, or even that they want it, but at the very least you'll have a great underground punk cd for long road trips. In fact I just made a Vegas run with this thing in my cd player. It'll always be good for that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Album, Great Band, January 20, 2004
This review is from: Alcoholiday (Audio CD)
Well lets pu it this way, they are not very known in the world but that makes it even better. Their music is pure Punk rock, which I love. If you're a fan of Rufio, Millencolin, Sum 41, Pennywise, etc you should get an album from these fellows. Just listen to the song called 'Jackie Chan's Army' MI6 is definetely a great punk rock band.
