I purchased this to use for cleaning other things, but it's worked fantastic so far.

This was easily removed with a good clean water rinse, compressed air, a wipe down and spray of water displacement formula 40.

After working years in the laboratory, this is the product I favor for cleaning glassware.

I worked in a biotech lab for a year, and this is what we used to clean glassware. I bought a carton for home, and couldn't be more satisfied. It took down burnt-on grease that you could never dream of removing with traditional detergent.

I only ran into one problem. My wood counters have an oil finish. I made the mistake of setting the alconox bottle down on the wood counters, and it destroyed the finish. You can't blame alconox - it was entirely my fault. This is just a word of advice if you happen to have an oil finish on your counters.

Out of all the household chores I hate the most, doing dishes probably at the top because I don't have a dishwasher.

I used to use this stuff to wash glassware and cell trays when I was working in a neuroscience lab. I figured "hey, if it's good enough to clean glassware for a half million dollar research project without leaving any residue... It's probably good enough to clean my dishes."

Turns out I was right. If you give you dishes/utensils a quick rinse with hot water after a meal so they're not covered in sauce and leftovers, just throw them in a sink with a plug. Plug up the sink, turn on the hot water and pour in the Alconox. Let it sit for 6-12 hours, drain the sink, rinse the dishes until they aren't slippery anymore and you're done.

Now you know the science nerd's shortcut for doing dishes.

I used this product to clean the slow speed circuit on Keihin VB44 carburetor with my newly purchased Kendal 6 liter heated ultrasonic cleaner. Soaking and buzzing all weekend, but it finally got the passages clear. These carbs had not been cleaned for over ten years and were completely pugged. I should have replaced the solution more often. As the water got dirtier and dirtier it tended to leave a very fine black/gray residue on the carbs, which was difficult to remove, (hand scrubbing and WD40). Kind of like cleaning floors with dirty water, you just spread the mud around. After cleaning the parts a white dry residue would form on the aluminum surfaces. This was easily removed with a good clean water rinse, compressed air, a wipe down and spray of water displacement formula 40.

Glass airplant globe terrariums grow dusty with use over time. Until I tried Alconox, I had no way to clean them. A simple dip and rinse with Alconox restored the pyrex globes to a sparkling clarity. A little goes a long way.

i got this cleaner for cleaning my tattoo grips and tips. this cleaner cleans very well. the cleaning powder that came w/ my sterilizer is crap compared to Alconox. the generic cleaner that came w/ my sterilizer, i had to run my stuff thru more then 10 times to get it clean, and even then, some of it still had a lil speck here or there of ink on a tip..and i used hot water too.

however w/ alconox, i ran my stuff thru about maybe 6-8 times, with very hot water, it cleaned like magic... i had to change my water after the 2nd cycle cuase of all the gunk that did come off... but i replaced it w/ fresh hot water again and ran my stuff thru and my stuff was getting clean good.

one thing i like about this cleaner as compared to others out there, alconox is non-corrosive!! the generic cleaner that came w/ my sterilizer was corrosive. it was eating away a lil bit at my tattoo tips... on the metal... but alconox doesn't do that...

i'm not sure if you can use it for jewelry, but if you can, buy it... it cleans very well. i use it for only my tattoo tips and grips.. gets them spotless.

the tattoo supply shops sell this cleaner as well.

I first learned about Alconox working in biochemistry labs. Glassware has to be clean - if not, your experiment is contaminated - and one of the first things I had to learn was how to hold up glass to the light and see whether or not the Alconox had removed every last trace of oil, grease, biofilm, all the contaminants. Clean glass has a particular sparkle and once you've seen it you can always recognize it.

The enviro-Nazis, meanwhile, decided that phosphates are so terrible for the environment that - while corporations are still permitted to discharge them by the megaton - my scant use of a few ounces of them per month in my dish detergent would be forbidden. Well, I can't stand hypocrisy and I can't abide being regulated for an ounce while the polluters get by with a ton. So I bought Alconox and use a teaspoon to supplement my phosphate-free dish detergent; my dishes have never looked cleaner.

You can also use Alconox to clean nearly anything by hand. Though it's bleach-free, it's the only thing for cleaning our white porcelain kitchen sink - it won't damage the surface, just get it white again. And for our Riedel wine glasses (along with a Riedel drying microfiber) - there is nothing even close; Alconox is sovereign.

I imagine eventually they'll outlaw it entirely. Stock up while you can!

I have used Alconox for critical cleaning operations over many years. This includes the ability to fully rinse away any and all residue. No better product on the market that I have evaluated.

Used to use this in a laboratory setting. It is a really great cleaner but has limitations. Like, do not put it in a dish or clothes washer. It can be harsh on bare skin. Aside from that it rinses very clean. Glassware and crystal sparkle. It can also be harsh on what you wash. Would not recommend for the average home unless they have prior experience with it.
